We count on health data to measure access, clinical outcomes, costs, and other crucial components of care. Race and ethnicity are part of this data set, influencing planning, aiding decisions, and changing lives. And, we know that many count on Rochester RHIO as one of the community’s key resources for this information.

Data quality and completeness allows accurate assessments of the health and well-being of residents—and identifying inequities. Rochester RHIO is a trusted data steward spanning 14 counties and 1.5 million people. Yet as robust as our systems are, we can do better. Our team is committed to improving how race and ethnicity data are recorded, collaborating with other regional healthcare agencies and experts to evaluate and reform policies and processes that deliver the most precise information possible.

Rochester RHIO CEO Jill Eisenstein is scheduled to speak at the FLPPS Partnership Showcase Series this week. Jill will be "Addressing Social Determinants of Health."

The four-part virtual Showcase Series begins August 18 and features regional FLPPS partner organizations that have created innovative change in the areas of Care Management, Behavioral Health and Social Determinants of Health as a result of DSRIP.

Certain healthcare facilities are pre-qualified to receive up to $13,000 in state money if they sign up to send clinical data to Rochester RHIO, our community health information exchange. Eligible organizations that wish to participate in the Data Exchange Incentive Program (DEIP) must contact Rochester RHIO by mid-September to complete the paperwork for the September 30, 2020 deadline, and must comply with bi-directional connectivity requirements by May 31, 2021.
