This Week Around the Mountain 

Sunday Morning Spiritual Formation continues this week at 9 o'clock. For adults, join Pastor Ken in the Multipurpose Room for a free-flowing discussion on spirituality. For children, "What's Your Superpower?" gives young people a chance to discuss and practice the small ways we can act big (we have hero capes AND snacks!). We gather in the Parlor before heading to the Blue Room. 

We need loving adults to walk with these young people. You are needed! To find your place to plug in, please reach out to Karen via email.

After worship this week, the Sacred Sites team will gather for a shared lunch. Get all the details below. Sermon Reboot with Pastor Ken returns on September 25. 

Coffee Chat in Fall 2022 

We all love Coffee Chat! Sitting around Smith Hall with a cuppa helps us connect and deepen friendships. Our orange folding chairs are MAGIC - they make community grow.

Show your Shadow Rock love by volunteering to provide, serve, and clean up. It's a great thing to "Keep It Simple, Sweetie!" with some nut-free cookies or fruit. Visit our Sign Up Genius to choose your date. 

Sacred Sites Meeting

Everyone is invited to stay after church for the Kickoff of this year’s Sacred Sites’ events. Join us in Smith Hall for lunch following worship. The program will include a clip from Fantasia, Ken discussing the Theology of Creation, a preview of fall events, and a PowerPoint of the latest ventures into space from NASA. There will be plenty of food for all.

NAMI Walks Your Way - a Special Invitation from the WISE Team

Shadow Rock's WISE Team will be participating in NAMIWalks Your Way 2022 on October 15, 2022 in Tempe. Our team is the "WISE Walkers." We invite you and your friends and family to help us walk toward a future where our vision of "Mental Health for All" comes true. Giving and Sharing => Making a Difference!

We love how active Shadow Rock is in the world. We cherish the stories of how we've made a difference in people's lives. There are lots of ways to contribute to this good feeling. Here are a couple we want to highlight this week:

Phone Volunteers: We need some folks who are available occasionally to substitute for our regular scheduled phone volunteers. Shifts are 8:30 am to 11:30 am and 11:30 am to 3:00 pm. If you'd like to help out on an as-needed basis, please reach out to Lois. 

The Driving Force: We are looking for people who don't mind a trip around town! Pastor Ken would like a small group of people to do some compassionate driving errands such as delivering a check for the Pastor's Charitable Fund, taking our refugee family members to an appointment, or providing transportation to chemotherapy. Please email Ken to get on this list.
