Congregational Meeting on Zoom!
|
|
This Sunday, June 28th, is our Congregational Meeting. We'll have a finance update, and we'll vote on new board members and board president.
This meeting will be conducted via Zoom.
Click this link at 10:00 a.m. to join. As we are expecting a larger group, please make sure to mute your microphone when not voting or asking a question. We want everyone to feel comfortable in meeting this way, so if you've never used Zoom or are unfamiliar with it,
please contact Karen and she'll be happy to give you a tutorial!
We'll continue our usual Sunday morning Faith Formation and Coffee Chat as soon as the meeting is concluded. These programs will use the same Zoom link, so stick around after the meeting! All are welcome!

Wednesday (6/24): Connections Count on Zoom at 7:00 p.m.
A weekly video highlighting a different spiritual practice or concept. This week, look for a discussion of mindfulness and food. What's the spirituality of chocolate? We'll talk about staying present to daily life.
Yoga Nidra will be on Facebook Live this week at 10:00 a.m. The theme of this week's practice is revisiting memory.
Monday (6/29): Small Group Ministry on Zoom at 6:55 p.m.
Our Small Group Ministry discussions are alternating between Exploring Popular Culture and Doing the Work of Anti-Racism. This coming Monday, it's Pop Culture. Come with your favorite book, movie, series, or TV show and be ready to share or just come ready to connect and maybe find something new to enjoy.
Contact Karen
for information about joining this group.
Sunday, June 28
Virtual Worship
is delivered to your inbox first thing in the morning. This Sunday will offer our last installment of the "Cathedral Within" sermon series. The interview is with our own Judy Schwiebert. She shares some of her spiritual journey and a true heart of a public servant.
Faith Formation will take a break in July, but don't miss this week's wrap up of the series on core pastoral care skills. We've discussed listening, perseverance, and boundaries. How do these skills work together as we're caring for one another? Let's talk! Due to the congregational meeting at 10:00, we'll begin Faith Formation as soon as the meeting is finished on the same Zoom link. You'll find that link in Sunday's worship email.
This week is our
Congregational Meeting. Join us at 10:00 via Zoom. Details can be found at the top of this edition of Rock the Week.

Last week, you should have received a church update from Pastor Ken. While lengthy, it's full of important information about our plans for July and benchmarks for reopening. If you missed it,
you can read it here.
|
|
Time for a head count! Our church records are in need of updating so we're going to be using these long summer months to conduct a Shadow Rock Census. Right now, we're looking for volunteers who want to help make phone calls to our church family to confirm addresses, emails, and other contact information. If you can help in this way,
please contact Abeth
.

Each week we'll be spotlighting an organization or site that's worth looking into. If you would like to suggest a future group to feature,
please contact Abeth
.
Circle the City is a non-profit community health organization that provides holistic healthcare to people experiencing homelessness in Maricopa County. They serve approximately 7000 patients per year. People experiencing homelessness are highly susceptible to infectious diseases like COVID-19, and Circle the City is working hard to safely provide healthcare during this pandemic.

Reminders While the Campus is Closed
|
|
- Our mail service is on hold and being picked up more sporadically. If you have important mail that needs our attention, please contact Heidi and she will give you an alternate address so we can receive it quicker.
- If you need any assistance securing groceries, medicine or toiletries, please contact us via email. We want to do our best to make sure everyone is safe and well.
- One of the most important things we can do for each other during this time of isolation and distance is to keep in touch. We're a very social church family, and it's hard to be apart from one another! Try to take time every day or two to call, text, or email one of your Shadow Rock friends.
|
|
Thank you for your love and support of Shadow Rock! Your financial support and donations are more important than ever as we go through this unprecedented time of uncertainty. If you have questions about giving electronically,
please reach out to Heidi and she'll be happy to help! You can also give to our Pastor's Charitable Fund or Facilities Improvement Fund by clicking the yellow donate button below.
Miss a week? You can find previous Virtual Worship services as well as older editions of Rock the Week by going to our website and clicking "News" at the top of the page.
