Rock the Week for February 16
~Your Weekly Dose of Shadow Rock News~
The Joy of Epiphany

It's Epiphany! In this joyful season, we're asking a question together: "What does life with God look like?"

In this "block" of Rock the Week we're opening some space to explore Epiphany ideas a bit deeper. For the next few weeks, we'll offer resources for reflection that you're invited to work through on your own.

  • Pastor Ken's sermon on Luke 6's Blessings and Woes from this past Sunday, February 13
  • A little more background on the Synoptic Gospels
  • This sermon was perhaps more teaching than preaching! How are your heart and mind responding?
  • Does additional information about Christian tradition and the sources of our scripture make you more interested or less?
  • Our Covenant speaks of the balance between study, worship, and service... How do you think we're doing on finding that balance? How does that balance show up in your own life?

See you at hybrid worship this coming Sunday!

A Quick Reminder:

The church office and Shadow Rock Preschool will be closed on Monday, February 21 for President's Day.
Community Prayer and Care

Please keep Michael, Liz, and Matt Curry in your thoughts and prayers as Michael is hospitalized due to increased anxiety. If you would like to reach out to Michael, please email Liz and she will take your message to him.
Welcoming, Inclusive, Supportive, Engaging!

The Shadow Rock WISE Team gave an update on Sunday, including some information about compassionate language. Using inclusive and accurate language (including choosing words that feel supportive to those communities who are most affected) is a way of living our values.

In case you missed it on Sunday, here is WISE Team member Susan Glynn (from her lovely office with her son Matthew's artwork in the background):

We are grateful to Susan and the whole WISE team for their compassionate leadership.
