Small Groups, Big Conversations
We're excited to announce the start of our Small Group Ministry! This new program offers connection and structured discussions on a variety of topics. For now, we're offering an anti-racism discussion, as well as a lighter, pop-culture exchange. For details, click here.

We're getting the ball rolling next Monday, June 22nd. Join us via Zoom at 6:55 p.m. to learn more at our Introduction and Covenant Building meeting. This meeting will help us gauge interest in the different discussions, as well as give everyone a chance to review Zoom etiquette and usage and find out more about the different opportunities. Click here on Monday night to launch the Zoom meeting.

We don't want technology to come between us - if you aren't familiar or comfortable with Zoom, please email Karen. She'll be happy to get you started or help you navigate this new way to communicate.
This Week Online

Yoga Nidra will be on Facebook Live this week at 10:00 a.m. The theme of this week's practice is spacious awareness.

Sunday, June 21
Virtual Worship is delivered to your inbox first thing in the morning. This week, we continue to encourage each other to build the "Cathedral Within." Also, given such positive response to the recent interviews with Brittany Wideman and Hubert Hirwa, the only thing better is putting them together. This week we listen to them talk with Pastor Ken about the role of Black Intellectuals in today’s movement. We call this, "Kindred Spirits in the Time of Unrest."

This week in Faith Formation, we wrap up a 3 week unit on pastoral care basics, with the focus on the pastoral care skill of boundary setting. These have been rich discussions... "Pastoral" care is about the style and quality of caregiving, not the person doing the caring. We are all called to spiritual care of one another. To participate in faith formation, click the zoom link in Sunday’s worship email at 10:30 a.m. We'll focus on this topic until it's time for more general Coffee Chat style fellowship at 11:00.

We may be apart physically, but we're still staying connected! If you have a birthday, wedding anniversary, or other good news to share, we invite you to email them to Karen each week by Thursday for inclusion in the following Sunday's worship service. We want to celebrate YOU!

Time for a head count! Our church records are in desperate need of updating and sorting so we're going to be using these long summer months to conduct a Shadow Rock Census. Right now, we're looking for volunteers who want to help make phone calls to our church family to confirm addresses, emails, and other contact information. If you can help in this way, please contact Abeth .
Focus On....
Each week we'll be spotlighting an organization or site that's worth looking into. If you would like to suggest a future group to feature, please contact Abeth .

Most of the Navajo Nation land mass lays within the boundaries of our own Southwest Conference UCC. It has been hit extremely hard by the coronavirus, and there are many vetted organizations providing relief and assistance. The Southwest Conference's website has contact information for Navajo agencies and our ecumenical partners’ ministries offering assistance to members of the Navajo Nation. Click the yellow button to learn more.
Reminders While the Campus is Closed
  • Our mail service is on hold and being picked up more sporadically. If you have important mail that needs our attention, please contact Heidi and she will give you an alternate address so we can receive it quicker.
  • If you need any assistance securing groceries, medicine or toiletries, please contact us via email. We want to do our best to make sure everyone is safe and well.
  • One of the most important things we can do for each other during this time of isolation and distance is to keep in touch. We're a very social church family, and it's hard to be apart from one another! Try to take time every day or two to call, text, or email one of your Shadow Rock friends.
Supporting Shadow Rock
Thank you for your love and support of Shadow Rock! Your financial support and donations are more important than ever as we go through this unprecedented time of uncertainty. If you have questions about giving electronically, please reach out to Heidi and she'll be happy to help! You can also give to our Pastor's Charitable Fund or Facilities Improvement Fund by clicking the yellow donate button below.
