ROCK THE WEEK
October 28, 2020
The Happy Couple
Our friends Misael and Marily were married last week in a small, private ceremony conducted by Pastor Ken. We wish them joy and happiness, and were glad to be a part of their special day. You can send them virtual well-wishes by clicking here.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
-I Corinthians, 13:4-7
This Week Online
Wednesday (10/28): Connections Count on Zoom at 7:00 p.m.
A combination of celebrations and prayer requests, plus a chance to connect with our Shadow Rock family. Click here at 7:00 to participate.

Thursday (10/29): Spirituality Thursday on our Facebook page
A weekly video highlighting a different spiritual practice or concept. It's our last week with the theme OUTDOORS, and our focus is "trees." In November, the theme for Spirituality Thursday is gratitude for the church. We'll get started next week by being grateful for the church year.

Monday (11/2): Small Group Ministry on Zoom at 6:55 p.m.
Monday Small Groups are on hiatus for just a couple of weeks. In November, we'll be gathering to explore safe and mindful holiday celebrations. Watch this space for your invitation to join in!

Sunday, November 1
Virtual Worship is delivered to your inbox first thing in the morning.
This week, we continue our parking lot worship experience - the Shadow Rock Radio Spirit Hour! Make sure to RSVP here. Zoom worship experience with discussion is still available (pajamas optional) at 11:00 a.m. with the link in the worship email. It's our last week in the series "The Political Philosophy of Jesus." Sunday's focus is on the question of submission to government authority.

Adult Spiritual Formation is at 10:00 a.m. on Zoom. It's the same link as worship! Thanks for great discussions in October of allyship. November brings a new topic: creative prayer practices. It's a November Challenge! How many different ways can we connect prayer with "real life?"

Shadow Rock Campus is a designated voting location for Maricopa County. We are a voting center so anyone, regardless of their home address, may vote in person or drop off a mail-in ballot.

Voting will be in Smith Hall from 9:00 a.m. till 5:00 p.m. Oct. 22 - Nov. 3 with the exception of Sundays 10/25 and 11/1 when the voting center will be closed. On election day, Tuesday, Nov. 3rd, the hours will be 6:00 a.m. till 7:00 p.m.
We're staying on top of local statistics for COVID-19. You can see our tracking chart on our news page, updated on Friday of each week. The numbers can be confusing, so we encourage you to speak to Pastor Ken if you have questions or concerns about Shadow Rock's policy on resuming in-person services.

The annual Turkey Trot is coming! Mark your calendars for Sunday, November 15th. The Desert Mission truck will be on campus to safely accept your donations of turkeys, canned sides, or cash donations. If you do not plan to be on campus, you can mail your donation to the church or contact Heidi to donate online. Just be sure to indicate "Desert Mission Turkey Trot" on your check or e-giving. Thanks for your support! Gobble gobble!
Third quarter giving statements were sent out last week to Shadow Rock friends and families. If you did not receive one and believe you should have, or if you have questions about anything on your statement, please contact Heidi in the finance office for assistance. Thank you for your continued support of Shadow Rock!
Focus On....
Each week we'll be spotlighting an organization or site that's worth looking into. If you would like to suggest a future group to feature, please contact Abeth.

Election Day is less than a week away! Click the yellow button to get to the Arizona Voter Information Portal. Use it to find a polling location (Shadow Rock is one!), track your mail-in ballot, and much more.
Reminders While the Campus is Closed
  • Our mail service is on hold and being picked up more sporadically. If you have important mail that needs our attention, please contact Heidi and she will give you an alternate address so we can receive it quicker.
  • If you need any assistance securing groceries, medicine or toiletries, please contact us via email. We want to do our best to make sure everyone is safe and well.
  • One of the most important things we can do for each other during this time of isolation and distance is to keep in touch. We're a very social church family, and it's hard to be apart from one another! Try to take time every day or two to call, text, or email one of your Shadow Rock friends.
Supporting Shadow Rock
Thank you for your love and support of Shadow Rock! Your financial support and donations are more important than ever as we go through this unprecedented time of uncertainty. If you have questions about giving electronically, please reach out to Heidi and she'll be happy to help! You can also give to our Pastor's Charitable Fund or Facilities Improvement Fund by clicking the yellow donate button below.
