A Plan for August and Beyond
As temperatures heat up and we think about cooling down for July Sabbath, you might be wondering how the second half of 2021 will feel. In some ways, things have begun to feel more normal; in other ways, things are still strange and some changes feel permanent.
Here's what hasn't changed: we are in community together, caring for one another.
Pastor Ken and the Shadow Rock staff are ready to share with you plans for June and July and for our return in August. To share your comments or to ask questions, just hit reply.
June: Our current schedule of hybrid worship continues, including a 10:00 am Congregational Meeting on June 20. Pastor Ken's sermons and our worship liturgy will focus on different aspects of Sabbath.
July: Members of the Shadow Rock Board will lead Wednesday Connections on Zoom at 7:00 pm (July 7, 14, 21, and 28). Links will be sent the last week of June. The church office will close at the end of business on July 1 to accommodate preschool programming.
Fall 2021: Beginning on August 1, we will have a single worship service at 10:15 am, followed by Coffee Chat. The Sunday following Labor Day (September 12), we will return to our pre-pandemic Sunday Morning Experience.
- 9:00 am Spiritual Formation (adults and children)
- 10:15 am Worship
- 11: 15 am Coffee Chat
- 11:45 am Afterparty
While this is a schedule that we've used previously, we're not "going back." We will continue to experiment and live into hybrid models of church, worship, and fellowship. As we get closer to Sabbath and then again when we return, please check Rock the Week, our website and Facebook page, and other communications to stay up to date on everything happening on the campus and in our virtual spaces.
