ROCK THE WEEK

~Spirit-Filled Pentecost Greetings~
A New Milestone in Hybrid Worship

We've experimented with lots of different worship tools and fellowship approaches since our physical closure in March 2020... Zoom small groups, FM radio transmission in the parking lot, Facebook live...

This past Sunday, for the first time since we began hybrid worship in the Sanctuary on Easter morning, Zoom congregants and in-person congregants were able to see one another and interact in real time. And it was a blessing!

Thanks to everyone who participants and special shout outs to tech volunteers (Bryan Baca and Joe Hesley, Dave Hillyard and Ken Eicher - we're lookin' at you, friends!) who make everything happen.
Our Community This Week
Wednesday (5/26): Connections Count on Zoom at 7:00 pm
We've been doing this connection time on Wednesdays for a while now. Maybe you are needing to gather with friendly faces tonight. Zoom is the space for bringing our celebrations and our sorrows. This time together keeps us joined at heart! Click here TONIGHT at 7:00 to participate.

Thursday (5/27): Spirituality Thursday
Thursdays in May are all about family. This month, look for Homegrown, an encouraging series of reflections on raising new humans, live on the Shadow Rock Facebook page. This week, it's Show-and-Tell Time; we'll look together at some spirituality props and sensory items. Catch this short video live or tune in later to watch the recording.

Sunday, May 30 - Trinity Sunday
Adult Spiritual Formation will be meeting on Zoom and in the Multipurpose Room this Sunday at 10:00 am. It's a holiday weekend, so we're keeping things low key with some fun and educational progressive Christianity TikTok! Sunday morning formation is for everyone - no preparation or prior knowledge is necessary, but you might need your curiosity and a sense of humor!

Worship In-Person: 9:00 am and 11:00 am
Worship on Zoom or Streaming: 11:00 am
Afterparty In-Person and on Zoom: noon - 12:45 pm
It's a great day to be with your Shadow Rock family. Click the big button below to let us know that you're coming this week.

After the 11:00 am service, Zoom folks and in-person folks can both dive into Ken's sermon topic with a discussion question or two. Join us in the Multipurpose Room or just stay on Zoom for a deep diving Afterparty!

Save The Date! We will be gathering for a congregational meeting on Sunday morning, June 20 at 10:00 am in the Sanctuary.

If you are curious about governance in the United Church of Christ (in other words, why do we have congregational meetings?), check out these resources or email Pastor Ken with your questions.

Specific topics and agenda items for the June 20 meeting will be available as we get closer.
When you drive up to an intersection and see a homeless person asking for help, do you wonder...
What is their story?
Where do they go?
When the temperatures climb into the triple digits how do they survive?
Beginning June 2 and continuing every Wednesday through the summer, Ktizo UCC is opening their church home for people seeking water and safety from the extreme heat. They have done this for several years and they are inviting us to participate in this life saving ministry.
Click on the link to sign up for a date and a shift to help on Wednesdays beginning June 2. Contact Pastor Ken with questions and more information.
Supporting Shadow Rock
Thank you for your love and support of Shadow Rock! Your generosity to the Shadow Rock General Fund makes our ministries possible. If you have questions about giving electronically, contact Heidi. You can give to the General Fund and to special offerings by clicking the yellow donate button below.

You still have time to contribute to Strengthen the Church, one of five United Church of Christ special offerings. Traditionally coinciding with Pentecost, Strengthen the Church reflects the shared commitment of people across the United Church of Christ to cooperatively build up the UCC. Conferences and the national setting share STC gifts equally. The funds raised support leadership development, new churches, youth ministry, and innovation in existing congregations. Our generosity to STC builds and strengthens bonds of covenant.
