Shadow Rock Compassion and Caution

Shadow Rock staff and leadership continues to track local COVID-19 infection rates and think through our community response. Caution is warranted, especially for those with ongoing health concerns. Local cases seem to be on the rise. Vaccination and masking continue to be helpful practices. Masks are always welcome on the campus. Please stay tuned - if our local metrics make any changes necessary, we'll let you know here in Rock the Week.

For assistance in assessing your risk and response following a COVID-19 exposure, see this helpful guide from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Congregational Meeting on June 5

What better way to welcome the spirit of Pentecost, birthday of the Church, than a congregational meeting? We'll spend time together at 11:15 am on June 5, both in person and on Zoom, taking care of the business of our life together as a community. The agenda of our congregational meeting includes approving the budget and election of new board members. We are grateful for Shadow Rock leaders that make our life together possible. See you there!
Upcoming Spiritual Formation Opportunities

Even as our temperatures rise, we have things going on! Here's what's on the horizon for spiritual formation:

  • No formation this coming Sunday, May 29.
  • What's up with Pentecost? June 5 is a time to talk about the church's birth... and our shared future.
  • Africa's Great Civilizations - we're screening this beautiful and challenging documentary on June 12 and 19 at 9:00 am.
  • Zoom Small Group - join friends in a supportive and engaging program online June 6, 13, and 20 as we explore sustaining a journaling practice during July Sabbath.
  • Racial Justice Study Group - let's read and study together, in preparation for change and action. If you'd like to read and reflect over July, please get in touch with Karen by email or on Sunday morning.
Shadow Rock's Refugee Resettlement Efforts Continue

Some of our volunteers are still recovering from the amazing dinner the proceeds of which benefitted the Shadow Rock General Fund and our Refugee Resettlement Ministry. As these folks put their feet up and bask in the success of the dinner, you can still participate by giving. Secure online donation link is HERE.

The needs of the human family sometimes arrive at our door. We respond with generosity and care. In our giving and service, we are energized and blessed. Thank you!
Ktizo Korner

When can you help?

Ktizo's Beat the Heat heat relief and hydration program runs Wednesday afternoons June through September... starting (so soon!) June 1. The really good news: spots are filling fast. Make a plan for compassion and connection by signing into their SignUpGenius for this program. This work is life-saving for the recipients in the heat of the desert summer; the work is life-giving for those who show up to serve.

Our partnership with Ktizo centers on mutuality, hospitality, and compassion. Thanks for giving this opportunity prayerful consideration.
