Notes on a Paper Napkin, April 2024

We’re rounding the club house turn in the year as we put the first quarter behind us and commence focus on the next leg of the 2024 Rockbridge Breakfast Club marathon Derby. We set the pace out of the gate with organizational development on the Celebrate Rockbridge 24 community event and structuring of the Rockbridge Breakfast Club scholarships for persons pursuing careers in a trades discipline. If we want to wear a blanket of Flowering Dogwood (State Flower of Virginia) at the conclusion of the year it is important to maintain our focus and enthusiasm for the activities, we are involved in.

The Celebrate Rockbridge 24 event is well underway. It is scheduled for the Virginia Horse Center on June 23rd and features a theme of celebrating the many community activities available in Rockbridge County along with our annual recognition of the great service our first responders provide through our Firefighters Challenge tug-o-war competition. To assist in the presentation of this featured event we have applied for a grant from the W&L Community Grants program in the amount of 2,500 dollars. You can view the grant application-click here. Immediate attention needs to be directed to solidifying sponsors and vendors along with food and entertainment programming. Anyone and Everyone’s’ contribution to this signature event is necessary and appreciated!!! The committee will be meeting to discuss the event at the Lexington Library Saturday April 6th from 10AM to 11AM. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
