Rocket Report

Vol. 4, No. 23, February 5th
Words with Wilson
Catholic Schools Week is definitely one of my favorite weeks of the school year. It is truly a gift to be able to celebrate being a Catholic School- a school built on faith and love for one another. Recently, some students shared with me why St. Roch Catholic School is special to them. I thought this would be the perfect time to share them with you!

St. Roch Catholic School is special because….

  • the teachers are awesome and they love to help us learn through fun games. - Eli A
  • of my friends and teachers. - Jack A.
  • of all of the amazing teachers and support staff and how they help us every day. I am thankful for the people who teach us to the people who make our lunches. I am so thankful for Mr. Rush and Mrs. Wilson, and all they do for the whole school. - Kale A.
  • we get to go to mass. - Eli B.
  • it's a place that I can just be myself and have fun. - Nic B.
  • the teachers are very supportive and strive to make me a better person. -Hayden B.
  • of all of the kind students. -Lexy B.
  • the amount of love the staff shows for the children is so wonderful...I never feel uneasy dropping my little one-off...I know she is always going to be loved and looked after as if she were their own! - Bridget B.
  • the teachers and staff are amazing to every single student here. - Anna C.
  • it feels like home and the teachers are amazing. The building is your home away from home. -Antonio C.
  • I love how involved Mrs. WIlson is. - James C.
  • of the teachers and the education! There are many more reasons..the teachers feel like family to us and they care for us to try to keep us safe. We receive a good education and we are getting smarter every day! The most important reason is that we get to go to Mass and learn about God! We go to mass every Wednesday and it's a great opportunity because some schools don't go to Mass. We learn about God and get closer to him every day. Mrs. Wilson is the best principal ever, she teaches with love and kindness if someone makes her mad she ignores it and still has a positive attitude and she does everything for us even when she is having a bad day! She works so hard and we appreciate her so much! Mrs.Wilson also makes fun things for us to do like Catholic Schools Week, Mayfest, the 8th-grade play, and many more! I'm so thankful to be at a school with teachers you love and make it feel like home. At St.Roch, you can be anything. - Addie D.
  • of the love, you feel when you step out of your car. I love all of our teachers and support staff. If you are having a not so good day the teachers really fill you with joy. There is just nothing bad I can say about Saint Roch. I don't know how many people are going to say this but 2020 was a very rough year in our personal lives, and in school, but the teachers still pulled through and did everything they could to teach us from home. I am so very thankful that my parents sent me to a Catholic school and exactly this one. Even though we don't have an all-school mass now I'm still glad that we get to go once a week. - Nora G.
  • we get to learn about God and the staff is amazing. - Vivie H.
  • we are a family and how we all support and love each other. - Maggie H.
  • our teachers and support staff and Father Hunter work hard to keep our building as safe as possible. They make it feel like a home. - Alex J.
  • of the passionate teachers and the growing and learning students. -Ava K.
  • everyone here treats you like family. The environment I'm in is full of LOVE. - Isaiah L.
  • St Roch has given me the best memories of my life. The most fun I have had has been at St Roch. -Sydney B.

Have a great weekend!

Celebrate with Cookies!
COVID can't stop our celebration! We're celebrating Catholic Schools Week next week...and that means cookies on Friday!!! It’s not too late to send your cookie order form in to celebrate a special student, teacher, or staff member. If you turned in your forms and payment, we have them! If you didn't send your cookie order form to school, you can now order two ways: you can send your paper form into school or you can use an online order form. See links below.

For online orders, you must complete one form for every cookie ordered (i.e., five cookies need five different forms). Also important: Make sure to "sign" your message, as that is the only part of the form that will be delivered with the cookie.

Orders are due by Wednesday, February 10 at 2 p.m. Orders without payment will not be processed. You can pay via Venmo to Tina Hayes (@Christina-Hayes-6850). Please make sure to put “Rocket Cookies” in the memo. Or you can pay via cash/check by sending money to school with your student.

Questions? Please email Tina Hayes at hayes6850@yahoo.com

  • Act as "Parking Lot Promoters"...if Roncalli is being discussed, you can act as our reps!
  • Meet with Roncalli admissions and administrative staff to discuss recruitment and retention strategies. Times are TBD as of now.
  • Possibly provide a testimony at a school/parish event.
If you are interested, please contact Allie Ross at aross@roncalli.org. St. John XXIII, pray for us.

My Story, R Family
Throughout the month of February, we will be featuring couples who met in some shape or form because of Roncalli, or they are currently working together at RHS!
