Rocket Report

Vol. 4, No. 15, November 20th
Words with Wilson
As we approach Thanksgiving, I continue to be grateful for the opportunity to lead this fantastic school! Thank you for a wonderful in-person start to our school year. Your support means so much to our entire staff. I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving, and I wish you an abundance of blessings.

Just a reminder that today was our last in-person day before our Thanksgiving Break. We will NOT be in school (virtually or in-person) at all next week. Please enjoy the extra days with your family. On Monday, I will be sending out a very important email with our E-Learning schedules and routines. This email will also contain important information for our Kindergarten and preschool students as well.

On Tuesday, November 24th, we will have a packet pick-up. If your child is in 3rd, 5th, or 6th grade, you will NOT need to come by. Those teachers were able to get their packets ready and will be sending them home tomorrow. 1st, 2nd, 4th, 7th, and 8th-grade students will have packets that need picked-up on Tuesday, November 24th. You will not need to get out of your car. Just pull up to the main door and I will walk it out to you. You can come anytime between 12 and 6 pm. If you are not able to come by on the 24th, please let me know and we will make other arrangements.

Thank you again for your continued support as we transition to virtual learning.

November 17 Executive Committee Meeting Update
There was a great deal of discussion during this past week’s executive committee meeting—especially around how to execute on past and new programs in spite of COVID-19 restrictions. A few decisions were made, including funding a luncheon for all teachers on Monday, November 23. We know they will all be putting in an especially long day in preparation
for the winter e-learning period. We also discussed continuing to fund the snack cart and other gestures of support for teachers and staff—who will all continue working from the school while most of the kiddos learn from home. There will be ways you can help us spread the love this holiday season. Look for future emails on volunteer opportunities!
November 50/50 Entries to Roll Forward to January 2021 Drawing
Due to the new e-learning schedule, we have decided to postpone the November 50/50 drawing, and roll all current entries forward to the January 2021 drawing. We will remind you about the January 50/50 Raffle after Christmas!

After careful consideration, we have decided not to host a Christmas spiritwear sale; however, you still have the opportunity to order St. Roch gear through 1st Place Spiritwear. Remember: VIP members get discounts, so check your email for this week’s promotion and code.

Once the application is complete and the $100 registration fee is received, you may continue the registration process. For those who have not been in a South Deanery Catholic grade school for grades seven and eight, those next steps will include scheduling an admissions interview for Saturday, January 9 (limited space available). For all others, it will be scheduling your appointment to meet with your student's counselor to create their freshman year schedule. Please contact Director of Admissions Allie Ross at or (317) 787-8277, ext. 243 with any questions.
Roncalli Placement Test
Roncalli High School Placement Test-December 5, 2020
The December 5 Roncalli High School Placement Test is still on! We will be following guidelines set by the Marion County Health Department, and our test room sizes will be much smaller. We plan to keep it this way unless we are told otherwise, but we are very confident we will host the December 5 test. Please note that students/families need to sign up for this test ahead of time. To do this, contact Jane Dias at at your earliest convenience.

Due to so many students being quarantined around the time of the November High School Placement Test, we have decided to let the students who take the December test be eligible for the Presidential Scholarship.
My Story, R Family Series
My Story, R Family
Enjoy today's My Story, R Family video from Mrs. Julie Albertson, Roncalli teacher and St. Mark parishioner. Mrs. Albertson has been an integral part in celebrating Roncalli's diversity over the years, and she has been a wonderful advocate for our Burmese community. We cannot wait to see how our community continues to change and grow, and we know Mrs. Albertson is going to play a big role in that.
