Rocket Report

Vol. 4, No. 25, February 19th
Words with Wilson
What a wild week it has been for everyone. Hopefully, Mother Nature will be a little nicer to us next week! On Wednesday we began the church season of Lent. When I was in grade school, I remember that I always dreaded the start of Lent. In my mind, it was a sad time for the church. A time when we didn't sing the Gloria, and couldn't sing the Alleluia, and we didn't eat meat on Fridays. As a child, my mindset was always focused on the negative, on what I was missing out on.

As an adult, my mindset has shifted significantly. I now look forward to the season of Lent. I look at the Lenten Season as an opportunity for me to grow spiritually. It is a chance for me to better myself for others and for God. I spend more time and prayer and find that by the end of Lent I feel my relationship with God is strengthened and renewed.

It's amazing how perspective changes with age. Have a great weekend, and thank you for your patience and flexibility through this crazy week!

Track and Field
"Interested in spring sports?  Does your son or daughter play other sports?  Participating in Track and Field can be the perfect fit for you!  Most track and field athletes are multisport athletes.  There will be 3 practices per week which allows your son or daughter to make it to a couple of track practices as well as their other sports. Our coaches have years of experience coaching at the high school and grade school level.  We will focus on form and training work to get your son or daughter to get the most out of their experience.  We will have a parent meeting on March 10 (location TBD) and starting practice on March 29."

We are planning to officially combine teams with St. Mark and Nativity. That was the plan last year and I believe they did this year for Cross Country.

Registration is upcoming

New “Walking With Christ” podcasts will be uploaded every Tuesday and Thursday of Lent, and can be found by searching for “Walking With Christ” on the Apple Podcast app and Spotify app, or by following the link to SoundCloud at Additional Lenten resources, as well as recordings of the podcasts, can be found at
