Vol. 4, No. 26, February 26th
Words with Wilson
I knew from a very young age that I wanted to be a teacher. The beautiful thing about teaching is that no two days are ever the same. Each day teachers are blessed with the opportunity to help shape the lives of the beautiful young people we are entrusted with. It is hard to describe how wonderful it feels when you see how excited a student gets when they have a "Light Bulb" moment. I asked our teachers to share why they love teaching. Over the next couple of weeks, I will be sharing their responses. Have a great weekend!
"I love teaching because I enjoy helping students in any way that I can. I love being able to see the light bulb moment when students begin to understand something. I also enjoy being able to help students succeed not just in the classroom, but out in the real world as well."
Ms. Leppert
"My love for teaching is nourished by the bright and creative minds of our students. The result is on the journey we learn together. I learn from them just as much. I also love working each day with a staff second to none." - Mr. Watson
"I love teaching because it makes me happy to be with my students. I enjoy my interactions with them, in and out of class. I also love sharing my subject material, hearing my students share ideas and make connections. It's a great job!"
Mrs. Chamberlin
"I love helping students find ways to connect the material to their personal lives. Connecting the arts to your life can help express what you are feeling, but also helps you step into another's perspective. Finding ways to see another's point of view is an important skill they will carry with them forever. "-Mr. Elam
"It's a means to an end. But really...I love teaching because I get to help foster and encourage new ideas and independent thinking. "- Mrs. O'Brien

Spring Sports Registration
Deadline to register is this Sunday!
The deadline to sign up for CYO Kickball (grades 3-8 girls) and Track (grades 4-8 coed) has been extended until this Sunday 2-28 at midnight.

Unfortunately, we did not have enough interest in soccer to field a team (grades 5-8) this year.

Please remember to visit cyoarchindy.org by midnight Sunday to register for kickball or track.
Track and Field
"Interested in spring sports?  Does your son or daughter play other sports?  Participating in Track and Field can be the perfect fit for you!  Most track and field athletes are multisport athletes.  There will be 3 practices per week which allows your son or daughter to make it to a couple of track practices as well as their other sports. Our coaches have years of experience coaching at the high school and grade school level.  We will focus on form and training work to get your son or daughter to get the most out of their experience.  We will have a parent meeting on March 10 (location TBD) and starting practice on March 29."

We are planning to officially combine teams with St. Mark and Nativity. That was the plan last year and I believe they did this year for Cross Country.

Registration ends Sunday!

My Story, R Family
My Story, R Family
This week marks the last My Story, R Family featuring RHS love stories, and we are so happy that Mark '85 and Rosie '88 Maloney shared their story with us! They recognize how much Roncalli has changed since the 80s, but they also see how the core values, faith, teachings and camaraderie are the same. The connections you make in these hallways stay with you forever.

For more information on the school and all we have to offer, please visit www.roncalli.org
