Words with Wilson
This week I received an email from Roncalli High School concerning vaping.  Unfortunately, vaping among our young people is becoming a growing concern. In the past few weeks, there have been numerous stories in the media in regards to the topic.  There are some very serious, life threatening illnesses that come from vaping.

As a school, we are examining ways that we can make our students more aware of the dangers of vaping.  Below you will find several articles related to the topic. As we continue to educate our students on this issue, I encourage you to also speak to your own children. We need to work together to raise awareness, and make sure they know  that this has serious implications for them.

Class Baskets
The annual St. Roch Auction/Reverse Raffle is scheduled for November 8th, and is one of St. Roch’s main fundraisers for the year. Back by popular demand are the Grade Level Baskets. For those of you who aren’t familiar with the baskets, each grade or homeroom sponsors a basket to be auctioned the night of the Reverse Raffle. In the past, the baskets have proven to be very popular. The themes for the baskets will be announced at a later date.

We really need everyone’s participation to make the baskets a huge success. Any monetary donations would be greatly appreciated (check should be made payable to “St. Roch”). In lieu of monetary donations, if you have gift cards or sporting event tickets that are available for donation, that would be great too! The donations can be forwarded to the student’s teacher and we are hoping to have all donations in by Monday, November 4th.

If you wish to donate online, please use the link below.
Thanks for attending the dine to donate, the next one is at Arnie’s on 11/7.

Spiritwear sale is now closed - items will be delivered early November. Remember - if you want these items to be a surprise for your student, please let Tina Hayes know that as soon as possible. Surprise items will be in the school office for pickup. If we do not hear from you, items will be sent home with students.

The second PTO meeting is on November 20th at 6:30pm in the cafeteria!
