Rocket Report

Vol. 4, No. 36, May 14th
Words with Wilson
I can't believe that we are almost to the end of this school year and that the Roch 500 is only a week away. The school has already raised $25,000 for the parish and school. I really would like for us to reach $28,000 with every family contributing in some way.

We hope that you are able to join us for the event. We will have a lot of fun walking, dancing, and playing games. We will also have the Indy 500 Pace Car at the event, and a Smart Blade Indy Car! We will also have raffle tickets, class baskets, and much, much more!

Don't forget about these awesome incentives:
  • Any student (family) that turns in $100 or more before May 10th may be CASUAL every day from May 10th - May 20th. If money is turned in any day between the 10th and the 20th you may be casual from that day on.

  • If we have 100% participation, the entire school will earn a "FUN DAY" on Thursday, May 20th with "Mayfest" games, various activities, and KONA ICE!

  • Top Seller's Families will get to drive the Pace Golf Cart on Saturday for one of the Walk Hours.
  • For every $20 your child (family) sells after their goal, they will be entered into a drawing for an amazing prize basket.

Have a fantastic weekend!
City Champs!!
Congratulations to our 34 Kickball Team and our Cadet Gold Kickball Team. Both teams brought home a city title!

Our 34 Kickball Team, coached by Dick Gallamore, Karen (Bola) Kiefer and Terese Blackmon, had an undefeated season. They faced St. Luke at the City Finals and came out victorious.

Our Cadet Gold Team, coached by Rosie Stahley, Melissa Stahley and Lisa Babb, also had an undefeated season. In the City Finals they went head to head against Nativity and came out with a VICTORY.

Way to go ROCKETS!

Dress Code Addition for 2021-2022 School Year
For the 2021-2022 school year, we will be adding a navy blue pants/shorts/skorts option, and a grey shirt option. Students may also continue to wear khaki bottoms with navy blue shirts.

We do ask that if they choose to wear navy blue pants, they wear a grey shirt instead of a navy shirt. When they wear khaki pants, a grey or navy shirt is acceptable.

We will have uniform shirts with the St. Roch logo available for sale. Shirts DO NOT have to be purchased from the school. It will just be an option if you would like. Stay tuned for more details. We will open the store this summer so that you can have items for the start of the school year.

NEWS FROM THE EC AND GM MEETINGS
The PTO held its final meetings of the year this past week—the last Executive Committee Meeting was held on Monday, May 10, and the last General Meeting was held on Wednesday, May 12. We’d like to thank all of our PTO members (that’s you, parents!) for the extremely successful year we had—despite the challenges we faced with COVID-19. We supported the St. Roch teachers, staff, and kids throughout the year in above-and-beyond ways; brought our community together to support those in need; and raised money for important programs that will improve our school. This summer, we’ll be working on filling the vacancies in our Executive Committee; continuing to make progress on the gym banner project; and planning for an amazing 2021-2022 school year! As always, let us know if you would like to become more involved, and keep sending us your ideas and feedback.
