Rocket Report

Vol. 4, No. 32, April 16th
Words with Wilson
The last two weeks have been incredibly special for our 8th-grade class. On Good Friday, they did a fantastic job of presenting the living Stations of the Cross. I am always in awe of how beautifully they capture the crucifixion of our Lord. They always have such reverence and really make you feel as though you are walking the road to crucifixion with Christ.
Last weekend they performed their 8th-grade play "The 2021 Hillbillian Beauty Pageant." Although this year was challenging, and the audience had to be very limited, they were amazing. It is always wonderful to see them shine on the stage. It was the first time that many of them have ever participated in a show, and they knocked it out of the park. The class of 2021 has continued to be strong leaders for our school, and I look forward to our remaining weeks so that we can continue to celebrate them!

Dress Code Addition for 2021-2022 School Year
For the 2021-2022 school year, we will be adding a navy blue pants/shorts/skorts option, and a grey shirt option. Students may also continue to wear khaki bottoms with navy blue shirts.

We do ask that if they choose to wear navy blue pants, they wear a grey shirt instead of a navy shirt. When they wear khaki pants, a grey or navy shirt is acceptable.

We will have uniform shirts with the St. Roch logo available for sale. Shirts DO NOT have to be purchased from the school. It will just be an option if you would like. Stay tuned for more details. We will open the store this summer so that you can have items for the start of the school year.

HELP US MAKE TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK SPECIAL
The PTO is planning daily surprises for Teacher Appreciation Week. To start the week off, we’d like to decorate each teacher’s door with personal notes about why we love them. Ask your student(s) to do it, or write your own short note (or both!). Feel free to send messages to teachers your student may have had in the past and/or our resources teachers and staff members. The PTO will be doing something special for everyone.

Submissions will be accepted until 12:00 p.m. on April 23, in order to allow the PTO time to decorate.
APRIL 50/50 RAFFLE UNDERWAY
There are only two 50/50 raffles remaining before school is out for summer! Don’t miss your chance to win big money. And remember, the class with the most participation will win a special treat.

EC MEETING UPDATES
The PTO executive committee met on Monday, April 12 at 4:00 p.m. Lots of great things are underway as the school year comes to a close. In addition to coordinating gifts and surprises for teachers and staff during Teacher Appreciation Week, the PTO is also supporting several other special groups in the coming weeks.

Work on the championship banners for the gymnasium is progressing. We are currently reviewing CYO archives and compiling championship information over the years. We are also getting pricing information from the vendor who created the wrestling banner currently hanging in the gym.

We began planning a summer spiritwear sale, which will include navy and gray uniform polos with the St. Roch logo, and the spirit shirt for the 2021-2022 school year. Be on the lookout for how to participate in the annual t-shirt design competition.
NEXT GENERAL PTO MEETING / JOIN THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE
Mark your calendars. The next General PTO Meeting will take place outside in the grotto on Wednesday, May 12 at 6:30 p.m. We will have several executive committee vacancies for the 2021-2022 school year.
