Rocket Report

Vol. 4, No. 10, October 9th
We will return from break on Monday, October 19th
Words with Wilson
The 1st Quarter has come to a close . We are so proud of the hard work our students put in everyday, and we love to have the opportunity to celebrate our Rockets!

This week was filled with College GO! activities, costumes, donuts and Kona Ice. It was a great reminder of some of the things that make St. Roch Catholic School the special place that it is. I love being a Rocket!

Have a great Fall Break, and enjoy your time as a family!
Meet our Parish Business Manager
There have been a few changes in staff at the Church Office since last school year. Mrs. Becky Gorball, parishioner since 1998, is now our Parish Business Manager. Becky and her husband Tony have two children Drew and Celeste. Both of her children are proud Rocket graduates.

Becky wears many hats in our business office, a few of which directly relate to our school. She handles all school tuition and parish contributions. If you have a tuition question, or find yourself in ned of tuition assistance, please reach out to Becky. She can be reached by email at

RCIA Classes Beginning
Are you interested in learning more about the Catholic Faith as an adult? St. Roch RCIA classes begin on October 20! These classes are offered to anyone interested in learning more about Catholicism and those who are interested in becoming members of the Catholic Church through the sacraments of baptism, Eucharist, and confirmation. We meet every other Tuesday evening from 7-8 p.m. with special opportunities for sharing prayer, as well. Contact Stephanie Newton in the parish office (317) 784-1763 or at for more information. All are welcome!
Election Day- Virtual Learning Day
Tuesday, November 3, 2020

As many of you know, St. Roch has traditionally been a polling site. This tradition will continue this election year, and we are excited to welcome the precinct to St. Roch.

The precinct is “housed” in our Parish Life Center and Gymnasium. This location has worked well in the past and has allowed us to continue a normal school day and simply cancel PE classes for the day. This year we have a couple more obstacles due to the changes we have had to make in order to be compliant with the state and local rules for COVID-19 and the changes we have had to make to keep our students off the front parking lot for recess and with our change to our dismissal.

Due to these changes, we will not be able to operate our school on Election Day this year. We have decided to make this an e-Learning day for St. Roch Catholic School. We were originally doing a 1 pm dismissal on this day, but feel for safety purposes, it will be better to not have our students on campus.

Teachers will send home materials and schedules for “live” lessons for this day the Friday before the election. Older students, grades 3-8, will also bring their Chromebooks home for this eLearning Day.

Thank you in advance for your support to this change in our school calendar!
