On behalf of the entire faculty and staff of St. Roch Catholic School, I wish you a very Happy Thanksgiving. I am so thankful for each of you. The support and love that you show to all of us each day is amazing, and we are grateful that you trust us with your most precious gifts- your children. I hope you have a wonderful day, and enjoy spending time with your family.
God Bless You!

We have two days coming up soon where we are asking students to bring a lunch from home. The first day is next Friday, December 6th. We will be having Bingo with Santa that evening, and need to have time during the day to prepare the cafeteria.
The second day is Tuesday, December 17th. The PTO Is hosting a special Christmas luncheon for the faculty and staff. We would like for our cafeteria workers to be able to attend as well.

Paper forms were sent home this week. There is a printable form attached below.
Please return form and payment to school by 11/27/2019, cash or check payable to St. Roch. GET YOUR RESERVATIONS IN EARLY! Seating is limited and honored by the order received. Kids of all ages are invited to attend!

Teacher/Staff Christmas Gifts
|
|
We would like to offer everyone the opportunity to contribute to group/class Christmas gifts for our wonderful teachers and support staff.
We will be collecting donations from now until
Friday,
December 13th
for anyone that would like to contribute. Your donations will be used to purchase various gift cards, through our SCRIP program, for the teachers and support staff of your choice.
Your donation can be made through our online giving link (below), cash or check. It is asked that all cash and/or checks (payable to St. Roch) be in sealed envelopes and marked for Stephanie Littell or "School Office." Also please specify who the donation will go towards and the amount.
When you break down your donation, you can list specific people or groups of people. We have homeroom teachers, resource teachers, special area teachers (Art, Music, P.E. Spanish, & Computer) cafeteria staff, instructional assistants, support staff and administration
Feel free to contact the office with any questions or concerns. Please note that this is optional. SCRIP cards are a great way to show appreciation to our teachers and support staff as well as giving back to the school. Buying gift cards through SCRIP is a program that donates a percentage of its sales back to the school.

Saint Roch spiritwear has been sent home - unless you specifically requested to pick your items up in the school office. If you requested office pickup, please do so during school hours.
If there are issues (missing items, wrong sizes/styles) with your order, please let Tina Hayes (
hayes6850@yahoo.com
) know immediately. All issues must be brought to her attention no later than
Wednesday, November 27th
. Unfortunately, we do not have the funds to hold inventory so if you ordered something but find that you don't like it or that it doesn't fit, we cannot exchange those items. But - many families reached out after the sale was closed in an attempt to order, and you might be able to sell your items. We would suggest starting with the Saint Roch Mommas facebook page. Additionally, feel free to let Tina know if you have something you would be willing to sell or trade as she may be able to connect you with families looking for something in particular.
Our next sale will most likely take place in January or February. If you have ideas for items that you would like for us to offer, please reach out to Tina Hayes at the email listed above as we are always looking for new ideas!
Go Rockets!

Roncalli High School is hosting two outstanding speakers in the coming months, and has invited all South Deanery Schools to participate.
All parents are welcome to attend a presentation from Detective Darin Odier in the Roncalli Auditorium on Monday, December 2nd from 6:30-8:00pm. Darin has served our community as a police officer for 30 years and a Federal Task Force Officer with the FBI Child Exploitation unit for 13 years. His presentation will focus on social media applications and dangers, sextorsion, and real life predators. Darin asks that no young children be present. While his talk does not include anything graphic, the subject matter is NOT for children.

Roncalli High School will be hosting Dr. Amy LaHood, Family Medicine Specialist at St. Vincent Hospital, who will be speaking to parents on "The Vaping Crisis." Dr. LaHood has been in family medicine for over two decades and has been on the front lines battling the vaping crisis with families and teenagers. Parents, please join us for this important presentation on Monday, January 27th in the Roncalli Auditorium from 6:30-7:30pm. Any parent of a St. Roch student that attends will receive a wristband that allows their child(ren) to be out of uniform that next day. Please note that this presentation is geared towards parents, and not children nor students.

If we ever have a 2 hour delay, early dismissal, or school closing because of inclement weather, we will notify the teachers and parents using the following:
1. Notified via email to all parents and staff.
2. Posted on our "Saint Roch Catholic School" Facebook Group Page
3. Posted on our Twitter page
4. A text Alert
5. Posted via local TV stations: Channel 4, 6, 8, 13, 59 (this is the last places I notify, please look for above methods first)
As always, as the parent YOU are the one that makes the decision on whether to bring your children to school each day because of weather and/or road conditions. If we are in school at a normal time and the roads around your home or area are not safe to travel, please call the school office and notify the school that your children will not be attending school because of inclement weather. Your student will be given an excused absence.
