BLACK LIGHT BOULDERING COMPETITION

For 14 years our Black Light Bouldering competitions have been known as one of the MOST FUN climbing events in the region – this comp delivers CREATIVITY , STOKE and FUN unlike any other climbing competition in our area. From the route setting, black light tape decor, costumes and DJ to the pre-registation swag bags, awards and raffle prizes, each year keeps getting better.

Registration: $35 ($45 after 10/22)
Members : $25 ($35 after 10/22)

Volunteers : It takes a lot of support from the entire Edgeworks community to pull off something as awesome as the Black Light Bouldering Comp. If you have some time to spare, we’d love to have your help! (no experience necessary)

IMPORTANT GYM & WALL CLOSURES:
In preparation for the competition, WALL CLOSURES will begin October 24-26.
Including ALL BOULDERING WALLS and most of the shorter top rope walls (West Room). 

COMPETITION AREAS will be open to COMPETITORS ONLY Saturday, October 27.
Including all of the West Room, Cardio/Weight Rooms and 2nd floor.
No fitness classes or youth programs. Spectators are welcome!

The EAST ROOM will REMAIN OPEN to customers Saturday, October 27 10am - 8pm
Including the new/taller top rope and lead walls!
MEMBER BLACK LIGHT EVENT
Sunday, October 28 | 6pm - 9pm

Competitions aren't for everyone but that's no reason to miss out on the fun of climbing in the black lights. Wear your best  GLOW and join us for an  after-hours ,  kid-friendly ,  member-only event .

EXPANSION UPDATE
Taller | Larger | Newer

Each day we’re another step closer to wrapping up our expansion project. We are literally changing every day with something new opening up and/or a temporary space being removed. 

Recent OPENINGS include:
  1. The newly expanded and updated LOCKER ROOMS, including SHOWERS - Now open!
  2. New WEIGHT & CARDIO ROOMS (pictured) are now available with more equipment on the way!
  3. We moved into our new OFFICES which allowed us to open up the expanded RETAIL area.
  4. New CUBBIE SYSTEMS have been installed providing better options to store your stuff while climbing.
  5. And, a new BIKE RACK is now available near the front entry.

Our remaining tasks include finishing the new 2nd floor Yoga Studio, Instruction Room, Community Space and additional bathrooms. #countingdownthedays

When asked about their favorite place to climb outside they said, " Red Rocks, Nevada . It makes for a great escape from the rain in the spring. While it can be a bit chilly or hot, it’s sunny. The area offers great options for all levels of sport climbing and bouldering , win-win!"

AIARE LEVEL 1
Multiple courses offered for the 2018/19 season

Join us for an intensive 24 hour course that covers the avalanche phenomenon , avalanche terrain , decision making , travel techniques , human factors , and companion rescue . An AIARE L1 Course can be considered a “stand alone” course with a focus on identifying the right questions, rather than on providing “answers”. We will offer lessons and exercises that are practical and applicable in the field.

As an add on to your program, sign up an additional day of backcountry skiing for the day following your AIARE program.

November 6 - “BLACKOUT CLIMBING w/ Headlamps”

Yes, we pay our utility bills! But we’re choosing to cut the lights anyway and give climbers the chance to light the walls with headlamps. Not only is it fun, but also educational should you ever get caught on a climb late at night.

NORTHWEST AVALANCHE CENTER AWARENESS PROGRAMS

Edgeworks Climbing is proud to support NWAC: a non-profit organization that promotes avalanche safety for backcountry travelers. These 90-minute talks are designed for anyone looking to learn about the phenomena of avalanche for the first time and they offer a great introduction to our AIARE courses.

There is no cost to attend but seating is limited. Sign up online!
