The Rohrer College of Business has hit the ground running this year. In this issue of Rohrer Review we highlight some new and exciting updates from our entrepreneurship program and the Rowan Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (RCIE). With the addition of Dr. Eric Liguori, RCIE Executive Director and William G. Rohrer Professorial Chair in Entrepreneurship, this fall and another new faculty member joining us next year, our entrepreneurship program continues to grow and flourish. As you will see, Rowan is quickly becoming a go to place for entrepreneurship education. Thank you for taking the time to explore Rowan's growing entrepreneurship program.
Students Pitch Their Best Business Ventures in the Idea Challenge
The Rowan Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, in partnership with the Rowan Innovation Venture Fund, again this fall ran a campus-wide Idea Challenge. The Idea Challenge is designed to connect, educate, and help students realize their entrepreneurial potential by inviting them to compete for $7,500 in idea stage seed funding.
Over 70 ideas were pitched from student competitors across several colleges on campus. On November 17 eighteen finalist teams presented their ventures to judges. Sponsors and supporters of the Idea Challenge included: College of Business, College of Science and Math, College of Engineering, Rowan's Collegiate Entrepreneurs' Organization Student Chapter, and Rowan's American Marketing Association Student Chapter. Two Rowan Student Entrepreneurs Compete in Global Pitch Competition Finals

Undergraduate students John Rondi and Darcy Lightman recently traveled with 9 other Rowan students and three faculty to Tampa, FL to attend the Collegiate Entrepreneurs’ Organization (CEO) Global Conference. While at the conference Rondi and Lightman both competed in the CEO Global Pitch Competition finals, cheered on by the support of both their peers and Rowan faculty members Dr. Eric Liguori, Dr. Linda Ross, and Professor Kimble Byrd. The 2017 Innovation Forum Brings Like-Minded Entrepreneurs Together
In the few short months since Business Hall opened, the College has hosted a range of high-profile events for students and members of the business community. The Corporate Innovation Forum, co-sponsored by Rowan University and TD Bank in May, was a highlight of the semester.

Designed to reinforce Rowan’s theme of Entrepreneurship Across the Campus/Entrepreneurship Across the Region, and TD Bank’s long-standing commitment to banking innovations, the event featured Karen Dougherty Buchholz, senior vice president of administration, Comcast Corp.
