Jefferson Park Assn takes a stand against

138kV Overhead Lines thru JP

See the proposed location of the Vine Substation

The Jefferson Park Neighborhood Assn Board sent a letter to TEP and will send one to the Board of Adjustment. Stating in part:

"Jefferson Park steadfastly opposes any consideration of running overhead lines and massive poles through our neighborhood. They should not be placed in residential neighborhoods and the substation should certainly be moved to a more suitable location. Undergrounding is the only consideration for the transmission lines in the heart of the city, thereby protecting the Tucson we want now and in the future." To read the entire letter go to: http://www.jeffersonpark.info/tep-138-kv-poles.

The Board of Adjustment hearing is Wednesday, October 25, 1:30 PM. It is a virtual meeting. TEP is appealing the 2021 determination by the Zoning Administrator that they must abide by the ordinances governing gateway and scenic routes.

Comment in writing by submitting an email no later than 5 PM, Tuesday, October 24 to: DSD_Zoning_Administration@tucsonaz.gov. Refer to Case # C10-21-09.

 1) Submit your request to speak no later than 5 PM, Monday, October 23 at cityclerk@tucsonaz.gov. Refer to Case # C10-21-09.
