As we head into the final months of the 2021-22 school year, I want to take this opportunity to provide a few updates.
Earlier this week, Governor Newsom announced changes to the indoor mask policies for K-12 schools in California. These changes will see us transition from the current masking requirements/mandates to masking recommendations in our schools. Beginning Monday, March 14, 2022 masking in schools will become a recommendation and optional for those wishing to attend school without a mask. Until that time, masking is still required through the end of the school day on Friday, March 11, 2022. The Romoland School District will continue to make any adjustments to our COVID-19 protocols based on updated guidance from the California Department of Public Health and the Riverside County Public Health System.
Last spring the Romoland School District engaged with school community groups and updated its 3-year Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP). As part of this process, we engage annually with the community to provide input and gather feedback through a tool called, ThoughtExchange. Your input is valued as we reflect on our successes and consider the next steps to strengthen support for students. If you would like to share your thoughts on the LCAP, please click here to participate: https://tejoin.com/scroll/647667509
I would like to thank all of our students, staff, and families for the great support and cooperation we’ve received in the Romoland School District. The challenges of the last two years are not something school systems were designed to handle, but with everyone working together we have maintained strong support for our students and each other.
Thank you,
Trevor Painton,
Superintendent
