DIEZ AWARDED THE YOUTH VIRTUES, VALOR AND VISION AWARD BY THE NCEA
Clare Diez with parents Miriam and Andrew Diez and Principal Kevin Banich R'09
Each year, the National Catholic Education Association (NCEA) presents the Youth Virtues, Valor and Vision Award. This award recognizes students in elementary and secondary schools across the nation who, through selfless service, determination, innovation and ideals, are changing the world while bearing witness to their Catholic faith. Roncalli is proud to announce that senior Clare Diez has been named this year’s NCEA Youth Virtues, Valor and Vision award recipient!
Clare Diez is a parishioner at the Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church. At Holy Name, she has served as an altar server for seven years. Her favorite school activities include singing in the Advanced Women’s Choir and participating in the Pro-Life Club, Royal Buddies Club and Community Service Club. Currently in her tenth year of 4-H, she enjoys working on projects such as baking, arts and crafts, creative writing and photography. She also helps as a junior leader during 4-H Club meetings. Additionally, she enjoys reading, playing the piano and violin and spending time with her family.
Congratulations to Clare on this outstanding honor!

SCHOLARSHIP SPOTLIGHT
Terry Family Scholarship
Betty and Stayton Terry had polar opposite educational backgrounds. Mrs. Terry graduated high school and continued her education, taking night courses early in her career. Mr. Terry grew up poor with few opportunities. He left school after the 7th grade to help support his family. At 16, he joined the Conservation Corps, and at 17, he enlisted in the Army and fought overseas during World War Two. Stayton came back a broken and damaged man. But with God’s grace, he met Betty and built a life together. With this in mind, Dennis Terry, one of Betty and Stayton’s two sons, wanted to honor his parents for creating a safe and loving home and ensuring the boys grew up as men in Christ with two $500 scholarships, one for a male student and one for a female student. These scholarships would give them so much joy as they would be thrilled and honored to be able to help a young person in their educational journey.

TELEHEALTH FOR RONCALLI STUDENTS
Nurses Direct Connect is proud to continue partnering with Roncalli School to provide quality healthcare for students. Over the past three months, many students have benefited from telehealth services, allowing them to receive timely treatment while staying in the school environment and minimizing disruptions to their learning. This partnership helps ensure that students get the care they need without missing valuable educational time.
Here’s How Nurses Direct Connect Works:
For Students at School:
If your child feels unwell and visits the front office, we’re able to conduct a telehealth visit if additional medical attention is needed. You’ll be notified before any care begins, with your permission sought every step of the way. If you’d like to schedule a visit for your child to be seen at school, you can do so—just let the office staff know as well.
At-Home Virtual Visits:
We also offer virtual appointments from home. To schedule an at-home visit, simply go to www.nursesdirectconnect.com.
Quick and Convenient Care Process:
-
Effortless Scheduling – Roncalli office staff will work with you to arrange the earliest available appointment.
-
Flexible Care Options – Your child can receive care in the school office or virtually from home.
-
In-Office Testing – Strep, flu and COVID testing are available directly in the school’s office.
- Prescription Convenience – If medication is needed, we’ll send prescriptions directly to your pharmacy of choice, allowing for an easy pick-up after school.
-
Insurance - We’re also pleased to announce that we now accept TriCare insurance, in addition to Anthem, United, UMR and Medicaid, to further expand access to care.
For more information contact Ashley Mahin, FNP-C Provider, at (317) 500-4572.
