Roncalli High School is delighted to announce that five members of the Class of 2023 have been named National Merit Semifinalist and National Merit Commended Scholars by The College Board. The National Merit Semifinalist is awarded to the top one percent in the nation, and the commended student status signifies that from the over 1.5 million seniors who took the PSAT last year, these students scored in the top 3% of the country’s brightest seniors.
National Merit Semfinalist Luke Kegerreis and National Merit Commended Scholars Anna Dressman, Zane Kale, Max Neitzke and Aron Suiaung make five members of this Roncalli Class of 2023 that have been recognized in what is the most prestigious, competitive academic honors program in the country.
Roncalli is proud of these outstanding students and extends congratulations to their families and elementary schools who prepared them so well for the vigor of a Roncalli High School education.

Each week, a team of school officials conduct a confidential meeting to discuss the needs of our students. The team seeks to identify students experiencing physical, social, emotional or spiritual difficulties and to remove any barriers which interfere with student learning. The team offers these students affirmation, support, direction, counseling and community referrals. In addition, the team leads programs designed to improve the well-being of our community by providing resources, offering activities, and presenting education on healthy living.

School policy does not provide for any early start of or extension of either fall or spring break. No student will be excused from school on any day(s) the week before or the week after fall or spring break. Any student’s absence on these days will be considered unexcused. An unexcused absence means that two points will be deducted from the student’s cumulative grade in each class at the end of that grading period. Students absent because of illness on the day(s) preceding and/or immediately following fall or spring break will be required to bring a doctor’s excuse to the attendance officer upon their return to school.

MISSED A SACRAMENT?
Have you or your child missed celebrating one of the Sacraments of Initiation: Baptism, Confirmation or Eucharist?
If your child (age 7+) has missed celebrating the sacrament of Baptism or Eucharist, rest assured it is never too late. We will have a class for children who wish to become part of the Catholic Church or 'catch up' on missed sacraments.
If you are an adult who has been baptized but not celebrated First Holy Communion, we invite you to prepare for First Communion and Confirmation in the Spring.
If you are an adult (14+) who has been baptized Catholic, celebrated First Holy Communion and not celebrated the Sacrament of Confirmation, we will hold a short class beginning after Easter.
If you have a young child (under age 7) who still needs to get baptized, we have a short baptismal class for parents and then are able to schedule the Baptism. The next class is scheduled for October 9 at 9:15 in the Guerin Room.
We realize that this is not a one size fits all process. We will discuss how we might best meet your needs. I will be meeting with those interested in the Sacraments for themselves or their family on October 23 after the 10:00 Mass in the Hospitality Room and on October 26 at 7pm in the Hospitality Room.
For more information and to RSVP, please contact Caryn Hudspeth, Coordinator of Sacramental Preparation, at chudspeth@stjudeindy.org
