Make Sure You're Signed Up for Text Alerts! Call for Action Expected Soon to Oppose Mandatory Energy Scores On Rental Units
Make sure you are in the CTR text alert system to get breaking news of real estate-related legislation needing immediate action. In this legislative session alone, CT Realtors has already helped defeat proposed legislation related to:
• Rent caps & rent control
• Landlord tax
• Required testing public water
• DEEP ability to invoke eminent domain on parts of the coastline
• Tax on vacant properties
Proposals CTR is still fighting:
• Mandatory energy scores for rentals - (Gov. Bill SB 979) Expected Call for Action this week
• Buyers’ conveyance tax
• Expanded seller conveyance tax
• Statewide property tax
Check to confirm that you are in the system to receive the Call for Action alerts: There is a two step process in the sign up - 1. Register 2. Verify by responding to the confirmation text. Many members have not completed the second step and are not in the system. If you are not sure if you're signed up, you can register and the system will alert you if you are already registered.
