Greetings!
Despite the June flood, we hope the summer months have treated you well and you've had time to get out and have some fun before we hunker down for the winter. Speaking of fun... there's plenty of it on tap this month at the Roosevelt Center.

There's a concert happening at the Roosevelt Center this month that you don't want to miss. As always, there's a wide array of exhibits from different artists and groups available to view for free at the Roosevelt Center. Come by and see for yourself.
Bryan Bowers Benefit Concert
How about a night of entertainment to benefit the Roosevelt Center?

The world renowned autoharp player, singer and songwriter, Bryan Bowers, is coming to the Roosevelt Center on Sept. 22. The show starts at 7 p.m.

Don't miss this family-friendly show featuring the only living inductee to the Autoharp Hall of Fame.

Donations are encouraged if you attend the concert with all of them going back to benefit the Roosevelt Center and the ongoing flood restoration work.

Any questions or concerns-- contact Roger Moellendorf (775) 315-4295.
Jimmy's Roadhouse Benefit Concert
The Roosevelt Center would like to extend its sincere thanks to the crew at Jimmy's Roadhouse for putting on one heck of a concert.

Susan Gibson, writer of the song "Wide Open Spaces" for The Chicks (previously known as the Dixie Chicks), performed for a sold-out crowd.

Did you know she wrote that chart-topping hit while staying in Missoula?

The concert, and additional donated auction items benefitted the Roosevelt Center's flood restoration work. THANK YOU to those who donated, bid, and came out to see the show.
New Exhibit from Morgan Legare
Stop by the Roosevelt Center and check out a new exhibit that captures the wonder of birds in flight and the motion that comes with it.

Morgan Legare, DBA Hippy Cowgirl Studio, is the artist who painted 10 canvases featuring all sorts of brightly colored birds in flight.

Stop by the Roosevelt Center any time during normal business hours Mon-Fri 9-5 p.m. to view her work and more all for free.
Sip & Paint Fundraiser
Last month at the Roosevelt Center, guests learned The Joy of Painting from our very own Beth (Ross) Korth. We're sure you see her resemblance to the one and only Mr. Bob Ross.

People had the opportunity to paint a beautiful mountain scene all while sipping on some tasty wine in a fun and friendly atmosphere.

The event benefitted the ongoing work at the Roosevelt Center to repair damage from the summer flood. Thank you to everyone who joined in creating a new piece of art and helping out the Roosevelt Center!
Roosevelt Center Hires New Employee
We couldn't be more excited to announce the hire of the Roosevelt Center's newest employee, Susan Maisenbach. She'll have her hands in a little bit of everything at the building, serving as the captain of multitasking.

Susan came to the Roosevelt Center with more than a decade of Event and Property Management experience. This is a natural transition for her into the nonprofit world, as she thrives in community.

With her knowledge and expertise, she is excited to create memorable events for volunteers and community members alike. Moving from one mountain town to another, she fell in love with Red Lodge, with its abundant outdoor recreations, down to earth people, and strong community.

She'd love to get a chance to meet everyone in the Roosevelt Center and greater Red Lodge communities. Stop by the Roosevelt Center and introduce yourself!
Roosevelt Center restoration moving forward
Restoration work has been moving full steam ahead in the bottom floor of the 1920s side of the Roosevelt Center to build back after the summer flood.

Thanks to the helping hands of The Mud Studs and volunteers from the newly-established Faith Chapel Red Lodge congregation, drywall panels have been hung up!

The new drywall replaced the plaster and lathe boards that used to cover the walls. THANK YOU to all who have leant a hand in this project over the past months.

And if you want to join in a Faith Chapel Red Lodge service, they meet in the Roosevelt Center auditorium every Sunday at 9:30 a.m.
Roosevelt Center adds new tenants
Aaron Martin & Jessica Parpart
We're pleased to announce the addition of some new tenants to the Roosevelt Center artist family: Aaron Martin and Jessica Parpart.

You can find them both on the 2nd floor of the Roosevelt Center in Rm. 203 sharing a studio with Cheryl Kesler

Aaron runs his own media production business called, Vivid Northwest Media. He's filmed music videos, social media promotions, commercials and plenty more. Click here to see his social media and view some of his amazing work.

Jessica owns her own company, A Thousand Leaves. She creates hand-made herbal body products that support the body and mind. In contrast to essential oils, Jessica uses the whole plant to make her products; roots, stems, leaves and all. Click here to view what she has to offer.
Big Sky Bonus Tracks
The Roosevelt Center is now the home base of a video production group that highlights Montana-area musicians: Big Sky Bonus Tracks.

Mitch Lagge, Schyler Allyn and Lucas Treptow will share Rm. 6 on the 2nd floor of the 1920s side of the building with Sean Kenney, AKA Jun[k]farmer.

The group started up production this year and already has recognition from the Recording Academy, the same group that gives out Grammy Awards.

Another Roosevelt Center tenant, Drew McManus from the band Satsang, asked the Big Sky Bonus Tracks team to help him create a video for the Recording Academy's "Positive Vibes Only" series. Click the video to the right to watch.

And click here to visit their website, listen to local musicians and follow them on social media.
Fun Run Funds to Support the Roosevelt Center
Fun Run 19 was a smashing success this year! THANK YOU to all who came out to run and donated to the more than 60 nonprofits working in Carbon County.

The final totals aren't tallied just yet, but we can share that the Roosevelt Center was raising money to purchase permanent installations for our growing sculpture garden on the front lawn, to help with operations and flood recovery.

You may have seen some new additions to the sculpture garden over the summer. We invite you to stop by and take a stroll.
Red Lodge Art Walk & Community Dance
You won't want to miss this month's Art Walk at the Roosevelt Center. Stop by any time between 3-8 p.m. this Saturday Sept. 10 and see what the Roosevelt Center is all about!

Staff always have a great time showing off the tremendous amount of art hanging on the building's walls. We also love to introduce guests to our many artist tenants who hold studios in the building.

If you haven't strolled the free Red Lodge Art Walk yet this year, consider this your invitation! The event is a family-friendly walk through downtown Red Lodge. Each business listed on the map below will be open to the public during the event and feature art from area artists.

If you haven't purchased an Art Walk t-shirt yet-- they are available in the office of the Roosevelt Center. Suggested donation of $20. Thanks to Beth Korth for her amazing work!
Supplies last until they run out! Email [email protected] to reserve one today.
After you've browsed all of the art that you can handle during Art Walk, come boogie the night away at the Roosevelt Center during the Community Dance! It starts at 7:30 p.m. on Sat. Sept. 10 inside the Roosevelt Center auditorium.

Beginners are welcome! Never danced before? Don't fret, because the caller, Mark Matthews, will teach you everything you need to know to have a good time.

Food Distribution
Mark your calendar for another food distribution day at the Roosevelt Center.

On Tuesday, Sept. 27 distribution starts at 1 p.m. with a limit of one box per car.

Please do not line up earlier than 12:30 p.m., as it creates unnecessary traffic. The boxes will be distributed from the west side of the Roosevelt Center via Hauser Ave.

Please make sure the trunk/doors of your car are unlocked. Please make sure there is LOTS of room in your car. Volunteers will not move your belongings to fit the box.
Roosevelt Center Tenant Spotlight:
Sheila Johns and Dan Wells
Dan Wells and Sheila Johns are a husband and wife art team who create in different mediums. Dan, a photographer, and Sheila, a visual artist who paints with acrylic and oils, pastels, and charcoal wash. Sheila also sculpts using driftwood and glass and has cast her own bronze, aluminum and iron sculptures.

Johns creates art that makes her happy in a style that leans toward nature and the clean lines of contemporary art. You won't find her presence on social media because she believes we miss out on the god things in life if we are focused on technology. Although she does have a website where you can purchase her work, you'll mostly find Johns creating and spending time in the great outdoors gathering inspiration.

Wells specializes in commercial and real estate photography, but he's no stranger to fine art photos. Nature landscapes, wildlife, travel, and events photography all have strong showings in his body of work. On his website, you'll find a wide selection of his work available on a variety of mediums, including canvas, metal, wood, acrylic and paper.
Donate Today to Continue Ongoing Projects
The Roosevelt Center was on track to complete many grants which were awarded before the flood. With the unexpected costs of a major flood renovation project, we are at risk of losing some of the great grants which have been awarded if we do not use the funds. Please consider donating today to help us stay on course and not lose any of the dollars we have been awarded this year.
Interested in getting involved? The Roosevelt Center has many ways you can help! You can donate to help support the ongoing renovations, volunteer at events, or join one of the Steering Committees. Contact [email protected] for more information.
