Children & Youth Ministries Weekly Update

Beautiful Gifts

The following is an excerpt from the poem, “Balloons Belong in Church” written by Ann Weems.

For God so loved the world

That He hung there

Loving the unlovable

What beautiful gift cannot be offered unto the Lord?

Whether it’s a balloon or a song or some joy that sits within you waiting to have the lid taken off.

This Sunday is Consecration Sunday, a day where we acknowledge and celebrate the blessings that God has provided and we prayerfully respond. This is an opportunity to talk to our children and youth about ways that we share and give of the blessings that we have received. For many of our families, they will respond monetarily; honoring God through a tithe, an offering to support and keep the church and its ministry strong.

Our younger saints need to know that their joy and wonder in Christ is also a gift that honors God, their presence and attention in Sunday School is an honored response, and that there is no beautiful gift that cannot be offered unto the Lord. What are we, as His kids, offering Him this Sunday?

Fall Fun!

The K2 Harvest Party was a success! The highly sought after, prestigious Golden Ladle, given to the special soul that brought in the winningest and best chili, was given to…

Children's Sunday School

Sundays, 9:00am

Pre-K & Kindergarten

This month, preschool and kindergarten are studying Genesis 1: GOD MADE EVERYTHING

We are studying stories in which God made and kept promises, like Abraham and Sarah and Noah and the Ark. Ask your child what is one thing that God promises them?

1st-5th Grades

We are continuing our adventure through Genesis. Last week the students studied the story of Adam and Eve and the entrance of sin into the world. This week will be a review of what we have learned so far, including a discussion about how Jesus is the complete and perfect version of humankind.

  • Memory Verse: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.’” -John 1:1 (ESV)
