Children & Youth Ministries Weekly Update

It was a great weekend at Trout Creek!

Our 3-5 graders from K2 Live and our Middle School students enjoyed a weekend of warm weather. Thank you to our adult and youth leaders for making this a memorable weekend. We are so grateful that God has blessed us with this beautiful space, filled it with excited children, guided by loving adults, planned by a staff with hearts for Jesus.

K2 Live Spring Retreat

The K2 Live kids spent time contemplating what it looks like to have Christ live in our heart homes. We used the book “My Heart: Christ's Home” by Robert Boyd Munger, retold for children by Carolyn Nystrom to guide our teaching and discussion. We also enjoyed a beautiful weekend participating in fun camp experiences like archery, rock wall climbing, the Big Swing and an evening campfire with s’mores. Hilarious skits and meaningful worship were highlights of the weekend.

Middle School Spring Splosion

This weekend Middle School read Matthew 6:25-34 and talked about Jesus’ teachings on trusting God. We talked about anxiety, fear, and worry about what it means to pay attention to the nature around us. Thankfully the weather was so beautiful and we were able to sit outside and see the birds and the fields that Jesus talks about in this passage. Together we worshiped and shared what it means to feel our emotions and trust God.

The Book Fairy

In April, the Book Fairy read the Big Red Tractor and the Little Village by Francis Chan.

Open House Volunteers Needed

We are looking for a handful of youth families that would be willing to sign up to help volunteer with Open House Ministries. As many of you know, CPC is helping donate household items for new residences. When Open House has families that are ready to move into their new apartments we are going to need many hands to help set up the rooms. Though we don’t have the exact date yet it will be sometime in the month of June. The more hands the better. If this is something you would be willing to help with please let Lydia or Tifny know.

VBS Take-Home Decorations Volunteers Needed

Do you love crafts? Would you rather do them in the comfort of your own home? Are you looking for ways to serve in the church? Then the VBS take-home decoration projects are for YOU. Kits are waiting to be taken home in the resource room! This is a great way to volunteer, help out with VBS and do it on your own time. Questions? Ask Anne Overton or Tifny.
