Children & Youth Ministries Weekly Update

Take a Look!

Last week we gave an overview of the Sunday School curriculum for every age group. If you missed it, check it out here

This week we wanted to give you a preview of what we are learning in our Grove 345, Middle School and High School youth groups!

Parents, if you ever have a question about any of these events, please don’t hesitate to reach out! And please encourage your kids to bring their friends! We love new faces.

Grove 345

High Point curriculum introduces not only Bible stories and values but also healthy character traits that encourage children on a path of integrity as they develop into a teen. Each 5-week session also includes a visit to an interesting location somewhere in the world where we discover together how God is alive and working through believers all over the globe.

Middle School Youth Group

From Ruth and Naomi to Jonathan and David our MSYG will be looking at multiple stories of friendship in the Bible. Our MSYG will explore how the practice of friendship helps us be lifelong disciples of Jesus. This will be a time for our students to learn about friendship, but also to grow their friendships with each other.

High School Youth Group

In HSYG we will be reading through the book of Acts. Our students will have the chance to read about how God uses Paul and engages in faith with the communities around him. We will be starting at the end of the book with his shipwreck on Malta and working backwards to see how God calls each of us to a life of faith and discipleship.

High School Back to School Retreat

September 26-28

Camp Tadmor

School is back in session and the Back to School Retreat at Camp Tadmor is an awesome way to reconnect with your church friends, enjoy some downtime in nature, and challenge your friends to a round of paintball! Register here.

High School Confirmation

Sundays, 9:00am, beginning October 5

Chapel

Our 2025 Confirmation class will be a space for students to ask the question(s): is it time? Is it time for me to take the next steps in my faith? What is faith? What questions do I have? Students do not have to get confirmed or baptized at the end of this class. Students that have already been confirmed are also welcome to join the study since the curriculum is different than our past confirmation cycle! Confirmation is designed to ask questions, learn, and engage in scripture and faith deeper. Please register here.

Back to School Success!

WOW, CPC donated 170 backpacks, nearly 40 pairs of shoes, and untold school supplies to McLoughlin Middle School and Marshall Elementary in our annual Back to School Drive. In addition, volunteers delivered all this, worked with staff to distribute lots of it to kids with their families, staffed an Open House, 6th Grade first day activities, and finally the return to school of 7/8th graders. In all about 20 CPC'ers brightened the sometimes nervous first days of school for the nearly 900 middle schoolers and 400 elementary school kiddos. Staff at the schools sent us a big thank you for partnering with them in welcoming these students Back to School 2025-26.

P.S. We also delivered the overflowing hygiene items the VBS kiddos donated at the end of June. Want to be part of this ministry? Contact Julie Mauer or Nancy Johns.
