Dr. Kathleen Shelton always loved science.

Manufacturers Meet to Discuss Policies Before the General Assembly
​The Delaware Manufacturing Association (DMA) recently met to discuss SB 1, the Healthy Delaware Families Act; HB 305, legalization of recreational marijuana; and HB 288, paid time off to vote.
 
Manufacturers like many others are facing significant labor shortages despite offering competitive wages, sign-on bonuses, good benefits packages, and more. The board met to talk about these proposals and share their feedback on the potential impact these bills, if passed, would have on the manufacturing industry—which employs more than 27,000 Delawareans. DELMARVA CENTRAL RAILROAD

The railroad has been a prevalent part of American history for nearly 200 years. Technological innovation, advances in transportation, and expansion westward would have never happened without the existence of railroad lines. Today, freight railroads have become almost forgotten, yet remain an extremely vital part of the supply chain. The Delmarva Central Railroad, a subsidiary of Carload Express that operates 188 miles of rail lines within Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia, helps keep this industry alive within the Delmarva Peninsula. Read more >

He started Black Entertainment Television (BET) with a $15,000 loan in 1980 and by 1991, he launched it as a public company—the first African-American-owned firm traded on the New York Stock Exchange.
