Rooted in Gratitude & Growing Together

Dear Parent Organization Network:

At Parent Organization Network (PON), we believe parents are equal partners and decision-makers in every public school. Our vision is a future where opportunity and achievement gaps are closed, and every student receives a high-quality, inclusive education tailored to their needs.

We are achieving this by uniting the power of underserved parents, including multilingual families, to break through barriers in public education. Together, parents and educators can ensure equity and excellence for all students.

Your support can make a real difference.

With your contribution, we can:

🌟 Providing multilingual resources and training for families

🗣️ Advocating for policies that promote diversity and inclusion.

🏫 Building strong parent-educator partnerships

💡 Join us in closing opportunity gaps and creating a brighter future for all students.

Together, we look forward to continuing our work to strengthen family engagement and make a lasting impact in our community.

4ELS FOR ENGLISH LEARNERS SUCCESS

~ BEST PRACTICE ~

This November, PON conducted a one-day professional development training for 13 parent leaders from different communities, we focused on building their capacity to support parents with English Learner students.

Through this workshop, participants:

  • Explored the power if the 4ELS ~ FOR ENGLISH LEARNER SUCCESS program for parents of English learners: the 4 key challenges, the lessons learned, and the achievements we have reached.
  • Learned about our best practices and facilitation strategies to successfully address the key challenges.
  • Strengthened their capacity and knowledge to plan, implement, and facilitate the 4ELS FOR ENGLISH LEARNER SUCCESS workshops with parents of English learners.

They engaged with our best practices and facilitation strategies designed to address these challenges effectively. By the end of the session, participants strengthened their knowledge and skills to plan, implement, and lead 4ELS workshops in their communities, empowering other parents to advocate for English Learners’ success.

We understand the importance of ongoing support and invite you to join our vibrant community! If you’d like to participate in these enriching sessions, please contact Daisy Amezcua at damezcua@parentnetwork-la.org or call (562) 922-9020.

COMING SOON!

We are excited to announce that our updated Strategic Plan for 2025-2027 will be released soon! The Strategic Plan brings the same framework, but priorities and activities have been adjusted to address the new realities communities and families are facing.

Stay tuned for details on the priorities, goals, and the innovative strategies that will guide our work over the next two years.
