Register Today for the Upcoming FJV Retreat Planning Workshop

Have you ever thought about what it might be like to attend an FJV Retreat? Many FJVs across the country put on their own retreats, and FJVs in Boston have done so successfully for at least 15 years! If you'd like to to learn more about what planning an FJV retreat entails, register now for this online workshop led by FJVs Lauren McCabe (Grays Harbor ’15-16) and Moriah Bauman (Berkeley ’15-16), seasoned members of the New England FJV retreat-planning team. Lauren and Moriah will teach the basics of grassroots FJV retreat planning. We will also hear retreat-planning testimonies from FJVs in Philadelphia and the Seattle area.

Preserving and Treasuring Fellowship in Seattle

Our group assembled in the fall with an uncertain journey ahead. We had lost our trusted and treasured leadership of many years, and we began our JV EnCorps year with new volunteer leadership from among our ranks. Our commitment to each other and the community we formed was worth saving and preserving. We worked together to make accommodations to those who met in person and online. There were technological bumps in the road, but we persevered. We knew that what we have as a group is special and unique. We share fellowship, and, through introspection and reflection, we share our lives. We come together because we have a common call to do our volunteer work, but we also come together each month for spiritual nourishment and connection.

Visit our latest blog post to read about the spiritual nourishment discussed in the Seattle JVE's December meeting, including commemorating the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe and the month's reflection topic, Hidden Wholeness.

Tacoma JV EnCorps Members & JVs Gather for Advent

The Tacoma JV EnCorps community has a joyous tradition of inviting the JVs to gather with them for Advent nourishment. Beginning the evening with a delicious potluck dinner, they got to know one another through sharing their experiences as JVs and JVEs. Often, they have invited the St. Leo pastor to give an Advent reflection. However, this year they had the opportunity to participate online with the Ignatian Spirituality Center’s special Advent service. The Ignatian Spiritual Center in Seattle brings Ignatian resources, connections and practices to local and national seekers. They are generous in their support of our JVC Northwest volunteers. So, this was a special opportunity to gather as a JVC Northwest community.

Visit jvencorps.org to learn more about continuing the Ignatian journey!

If you are curious about starting a JV EnCorps group in your area, please contact Karen: [email protected]. We are now open to adult members of all ages!
