Dear Rosa Coplon Family Members and Responsible Parties,
As we move toward Memorial Day weekend, I am cautiously pleased and thankful to report that we have made significant improvements in containing the spread of COVID-19. As of today, we have one resident in the hospital with COVID-19, and we are thinking of this individual and their family members during this difficult time. We currently do not have any COVID-19 cases onsite in Rosa Coplon Living Center, or at any of our nine Weinberg Campus communities.
This is a great credit to our staff, particularly in light of the significant spread of the virus in the Buffalo area and throughout New York State. I also want to recognize your support in following guidelines around visitation, as difficult as they have been for you and your loved ones. V
isitor restrictions also apply to outdoor visits at this time. In consultation with the Department of Health and for the safety of residents, residents will remain indoors temporarily to further assist our efforts in protecting them from the spread of the virus. We are working with health officials to develop safe outdoor practices and will continue to revisit this policy weekly.
The combined efforts and understanding of our residents, family members, and staff working together have been critical throughout the pandemic. Thank you.
Rest assured that we remain focused on infection control protocols to prevent the spread of the virus, knowing that it could re-appear at any time. The health and well-being of your loved ones and our staff remains our top priority.
A key element in preventing the spread of the virus is providing routine testing. We have been working with our state and county health departments and local laboratories to meet new guidelines for testing all employees twice weekly. We are also expecting the Erie County Department of Health to be onsite to test all of our residents within the next couple of weeks.
As a result of increased testing, we anticipate that we may see an uptick in positive COVID cases, especially among individuals who do not have symptoms. This testing initiative will help us identify cases and more quickly prevent and contain the spread of the virus on an ongoing basis. As a reminder, COVID-19 cases are updated daily by noon on our

I wish all of you a happy Memorial Day weekend. On Memorial Day we take time to remember heroes who made great sacrifices for the freedom of others. I will also be thinking about today’s health care heroes, especially those working here at Weinberg Campus, who are serving our residents with great devotion and dedication. Below are details about our special meal to honor Memorial Day. If you have questions, please feel free to contact me.
