Each week, we'll be introducing you to a different department and team at Rosa Coplon Living Center. Last week, we shared information about our inpatient rehab services. This week, we interviewed Nora Passuite, Admissions Coordinator at Rosa Coplon Living Center (pictured left).
What is the role of the admissions office?
The role of the admissions office is to screen eligible patients for admission to a skilled nursing facility for long-term care and short-term rehabilitation. We coordinate all initial policies and procedures so that a patient can be admitted with ease, and so that our staff can appropriately begin patient care.
What are your responsibilities as Admissions Coordinator?
Coordinating intake of new patients from hospitals/other facilities/the community, screening patients for admission to our skilled nursing facility, checking insurances to ensure patients are eligible and obtaining insurance approvals, and ensuring that proper medical equipment is ordered prior to a patient being admitted. We have extensive communication with our team at Rosa Coplon so they are aware an admission is coming in, checking rooms so that they can be properly sanitized and cleaned prior to admission, as well as with family members in obtaining signed admission paperwork.
