What's New?
thanksgiving-tree-header.jpg
This Thanksgiving we are so grateful for our staff, our residents and our families. This is the perfect time of year to recognize the compassion, patience and understanding that has been shown during the pandemic. Through it all, I am very proud that our team has continued to put resident care first.

Our staff was honored to receive a touching note of thanks from one of our families. Below is a brief excerpt:

"Never forget how much you are all appreciated! We may not always say it when we see you in the hallways, but believe me, you are all in our daily prayers to keep going and smiling as best you can during this historic time. You have been tasked with such an important mission in the care that you do, please never give up." - Family of Rosa Coplon Resident

Thank you and happy Thanksgiving!
It's Turkey Time!
We have a delicious Thanksgiving feast planned for lunch November 25th featuring a menu of traditional fall favorites:

  • Turkey Breast with Gravy
  • Mashed Potatoes
  • Stuffing
  • Prince Edward Island Vegetables
  • Cranberry Sauce
  • Pumpkin Pie
Earlier in the day, residents can get into the Thanksgiving spirit by participating in a game of Turkey Bingo at 10 am.
It's the Holiday Season!
The season of giving thanks and gift giving is upon us. We know that you appreciate the hard work of all of our staff members. Thank you to our many family members who have shared notes of thanks or other items with our employees. Items such as thank you notes or food for teams and departments is always appreciated. Please remember that employees are unable to accept individual cash tips or gifts.
Reminder: Please Plan Ahead for Safe Travel!
The holidays have arrived and we all love to include our loved ones in our holiday festivities. If you are considering taking your loved one out for the holidays, and they currently transfer with the assistance of 1 person, we ask that you contact the Therapy Department, 716-639-3311 ext. 2122, to arrange for training prior to taking your loved one out of the facility. This will allow the therapy staff to schedule an appointment with you and your loved one to go through any mobility training that would be needed and assist in providing the safest and most stress free outing possible. Thank you for your assistance and understanding. And Happy Holidays!

Information for Visitors

Visiting Hours
You may visit any time. No appointment necessary.

Visitor Guidelines
Below are current visiting guidelines, per the Department of Health (DOH):
  • If both the resident and their visitor(s) are fully vaccinated, and the resident and visitor(s) are alone in the resident room or outside on facility grounds and socially distanced from others, the resident and visitor may choose to have close contact (such as a hug) without a mask or face covering.
  • If the resident is fully vaccinated, they can choose to have close contact (such as a hug) with an unvaccinated visitor while both are wearing a well-fitting face mask and performing hand hygiene before and after.
  • Regardless, individuals must maintain social distancing of at least 6 feet from others during indoor and outdoor visitation and when traveling to and from a resident’s room.

Face masks are still required outside of resident rooms. You are only allowed to travel to and from your loved one’s room and cannot travel anywhere else within the unit or the facility at any time.

Preparing For Your Visit
  • You are not required to present a negative COVID-19 test for visitation. However, should you want to have a rapid COVID-19 test done on-site prior to your visit, you can schedule the test by calling 716-639-3311 ext. 2210. Prior to your test, you will need to complete the COVID-19 testing form.

What To Expect When You Arrive
  • Please use the entrance at 2700 N. Forest Rd.
  • All visitors will be screened for COVID-19. This will include a temperature check and you will be asked questions about potential exposure to the virus and recent travel. If you have signs or symptoms of COVID-19 and/or have had close contact with someone with COVID-19 infection in the prior 14 days (regardless of your vaccination status), you will not be allowed to have your in-person visit.
  • All visitors will be required to use hand sanitizer upon arrival and must wear a mask that covers your nose and mouth at all times during your visit at the facility.
  • Individuals must remain 6 feet apart throughout the visit.

Indoor Visits
  • You may only travel to and from your loved one’s room. You are not permitted to travel anywhere else within the unit or the facility at any time.
  • For residents living in a semi-private room, visitors may not enter the living space of the roommate or the shared bathroom.
  • These infection control practices must be adhered to at all times. Visitors who are unable to follow these guidelines will not be permitted to visit and will be asked to leave.
  • Any visitor who enters the facility and at any time receives a positive COVID-19 test result is required to notify the facility as soon as possible.
  • Per DOH guidelines, when a new case of COVID-19 is identified among residents and staff, as required, the facility will follow current DOH guidelines.
  • Thank you for following these infection control practices to ensure everyone’s safety. Our team continues to practice diligent infection prevention measures. Please let us know if you have questions.

Outdoor Visits
Per DOH guidelines, family members may take a resident outside, weather permitting, whether the resident is vaccinated or unvaccinated.
  • Visitors must go directly to their loved one’s room to escort their loved one outside for the visit. Visitors may not travel within the facility. Visits can take place only in the resident’s room or outside and cannot be conducted in common spaces.
  • If you’d like to have your visit outdoors, please inform the nurse on your loved one’s unit.
  • The nurse will provide a face mask to the resident.
  • Masks must be worn by both resident and visitor(s) during transport through the facility and during the visit. EXCEPTION: If the resident and their visitor(s) are fully vaccinated, and the resident and the visitor(s) are socially distanced from others, the resident and visitor(s) may choose to have close contact without a mask.
  • There can only be one resident in the elevator at a time.
  • Everyone must stay socially distant from others at all times throughout the visit – while traveling through the facility and while outside on facility grounds.
  • Visitors must escort their loved one outside, and back to their room at the end of their visit.
Thanks again for your support as COVID-19 regulations continue to evolve. Please reach out to me personally with questions or concerns.
