Louisville Seminary Welcomes Emalee Rose

as Vice President for the Office of Philanthropy & Stewardship

August 9, 2023 - (Louisville, KY) - Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary is thrilled to announce the appointment of Emalee S. Rose as the new Vice President for the Office of Philanthropy & Stewardship, effective September 1, 2023. In this key leadership role, Rose will oversee and provide strategic direction to the Seminary's fundraising efforts, donor relations, and stewardship initiatives. Emalee Rose brings a wealth of experience in philanthropy and fundraising, making her a perfect fit for this significant position.


Throughout her career, Rose has demonstrated a deep commitment to advancing the missions of these institutions through effective fundraising and stewardship practices. She has a keen understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing institutions of higher education. Her leadership and strategic acumen have been instrumental in driving transformative change and cultivating lasting partnerships with donors and stakeholders. A graduate of Alma College, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Anthropology, she has a proven track record of success, having held several pivotal roles at both Alma College and Northwood University. 


As the Vice President for Philanthropy and Stewardship, Rose will be responsible for guiding and implementing comprehensive fundraising strategies that align with Louisville Seminary's vision and values. She will collaborate closely with the development team, board members, and other stakeholders to foster a culture of philanthropy and stewardship within the Seminary community. Moreover, Rose will play a pivotal role in ensuring the sustainability and growth of scholarships, programs, and resources that empower the institution to fulfill its mission of preparing individuals for effective ministry and service.


Sherie Veramay, Senior Director of Planned Giving at Alma College, expressed her confidence in Emalee Rose's abilities, stating, “Emalee brings a strong commitment to best practices, enhanced by her values-based approach to philanthropy and her extensive experience in alum engagement. I have most enjoyed Emalee’s collaborative nature. Working closely with her on many significant fundraising and engagement events has enabled me to see her skills and expertise firsthand. Presented by Dr. Joy Ladin, award-winning speaker, writer, and trailblazer. Dr. Ladin became a nationally recognized speaker on trans and Jewish identity after her transition at Yeshiva University made her the first openly transgender employee of an Orthodox Jewish institution. Joy has been named to both the “Forward Fifty” list of influential or courageous Jews and to LGBTQ Nation's Top 50 Transgender Americans list, and is featured on a number of NPR programs.
