Calling all goblins and ghouls! Join us on October 31st for the annual Trunk or Treat and Haunted House event held at the Rosemead Community Recreation Center from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Children will enjoy goodies and treats, carnival games, arts & crafts, a haunted house, and a costume contest. Mondays are for picking up fresh fruits and vegetables at your local Farmers Market! Stop by Rosemead Park and enjoy fresh produce and other treats from your local Rosemead Farmers Market from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
New Dog Park Coming Soon
The City of Rosemead has been working on a space for our furry friends to call their own! The dog park will be located at Garvey Park next to the tennis court just north of the parking lot on Emerson Place. Construction began on August 15, 2022, with a tentative completion date in November of 2022.

This dog park will consist of a big dog area and a small dog area separated by a fence. To minimize distractions, it will also feature a decorative fence separating the tennis area from the dog park. The space will feature three shaded areas, play structures, benches, drinking fountains, dog bag dispensers, and a dog wash station. Housing Element Update
The Housing Element is a state-mandated policy document that provides direction for the implementation of various programs to meet current and projected future housing needs for all income levels family within the City. The City’s Housing Element was ranked 21st out of 197 cities within the Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG) jurisdictions to be certified by the California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD).

General Election Key Dates
Election day is on Tuesday, November 8, 2022. Don’t forget these key dates to ensure your vote is counted. 
Storm Water Catch Basin Upgrade
As part of the City’s Fiscal Year 2022-2023 Capital Improvement Program, the City will be upgrading 256 stormwater catch basins with trash capture devices to prevent the trash from entering the stormwater system to local waterways. Construction began in October 2022 and is scheduled to be completed by December 2022. The Project will support the City’s compliance with the Environmental Protection Agency stormwater permit and improve the City’s stormwater quality.
Excellence in Financial Reporting
Rosemead Receives GFOA Certificate for Financial Reporting
The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) has awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting to the City of Rosemead for its annual comprehensive financial report for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2021. The GFOA established the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting Program (Certificate Program) in 1945 to encourage and assist state and local governments to go beyond the minimum requirements of generally accepted accounting principles to prepare annual comprehensive financial reports that evidence the spirit of transparency and full disclosure, and then to recognize individual governments that succeed in achieving that goal. The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management. Rosemead is proud to receive this certificate.
