Rosenberg City Council Appoints Joyce Vasut as New City Manager

The city of Rosenberg is pleased to announce the appointment of Joyce Vasut as City Manager following a unanimous vote at the April 1, 2025 City Council Meeting. Vasut, who has dedicated over 14 years to the City of Rosenberg in various leadership roles, has been serving as Interim City Manager since March 18, 2025.


Vasut brings a wealth of experience in municipal management, finance and administration. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Southwest Texas State University and became a Certified Public Accountant in 1995. Her career spans more than three decades in public service, including positions with the Harris County Auditor’s Office, and the cities of Wharton and Rosenberg. Since joining Rosenberg in 2010 as Finance Director, she has advanced through several leadership roles, most recently serving as Assistant City Manager since 2017.


“As City Manager, I am honored to serve Rosenberg and continue working alongside our dedicated staff, City Council and community,” said Vasut. “I am fortunate to have the support of a talented, passionate and driven team that works together to make everything we achieve possible.”


Vasut is ready to lead Rosenberg through its next chapter of growth and innovation and will continue to move forward with the City’s mission to provide exceptional services that create and sustain a safe, livable and vibrant community.
