The City of Rosenberg and the Rosenberg Fire Department are excited to welcome Curtis Campbell to Rosenberg as the City’s new Fire Marshal. Campbell began his new role with the Rosenberg Fire Department on January 5.

Part of Fire Marshal Campbell’s duties will be focusing on building relationships with the community by sharing fire education and prevention tips specifically designed to reduce the loss of life and property caused by fires. “The Rosenberg Fire Department is proud to have Curtis as the next Fire Marshal for the City of Rosenberg. The knowledge and experience that Curtis brings to the Fire Marshal’s office will be an asset to the City as Rosenberg continues to grow and develop,” commented Fire Chief Darrell Himly.

Campbell will also be responsible for enforcing all city, state and federal laws as they pertain to arson, inspecting new and existing buildings and structures for potentially dangerous fire conditions, and reviewing construction and engineering plans to ensure there are no possibly dangerous fire conditions prior to the start of construction.

Campbell is a life-long resident of Fort Bend County. He has over 20 years of public safety and fire prevention experience. He previously worked for the City of Richmond and Missouri City where he served as Chief Fire Marshal. “I look forward to the challenges and opportunities in my position and am excited about the future of Rosenberg,” said Campbell. “The community keeps to its roots with a great historic downtown and has new additional development to support a growing city.”

The Rosenberg Fire Department was established over 100 years ago in 1914, and has been dedicated to providing the highest possible level of service to everyone who lives in, works in, or visits the City of Rosenberg ever since. The Rosenberg Fire Department consists of 58 uniformed staff and two administrative positions under the leadership of Fire Chief Darrell Himly and Assistant Fire Chief Daryl Maretka. The department operates out of four fire stations located throughout Rosenberg and responded to over 5,600 emergency service calls last year.
