Families, need a break during morning services? Come check out A Taste of Rosh Hashanah! Activities tables for the kids will be available in the Great Room, and services will be streamed so you won't miss a moment. Please note: parents MUST be present in the Great Room with their children as

the activities will not be monitored.

Scavenger Hunt: 4:30 to 5:00 p.m. at Gold Star Battalion Beach

Families are invited to help find their way into a new year. This fun activity at the beach will encourage kids and parents to look for clues to better themselves and the world around them. Click here for directions.

Tashlich: 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Gold Star Battalion Beach

Join us for a chance to “cast away” your sins AND help feed the needy in the Huntington area. With Gold Star Battalion Beach as our backdrop, we’ll continue our spiritual work of the High Holy Days. Bring a loaf of bread to “cast away” as a donation to help the hungry. If you have a shofar and know how to make it work, bring it and join in calling the community to this holy time of year!

Annual High Holy Days Food Drive

Keeping with our Temple Beth El tradition, our High Holy Days Food Drive will go on as usual. Please fill your grocery bags to help those struggling to feed their families and pay their bills. Brown paper bags will be available in the lobby from Rosh Hashanah to Yom Kippur. Drop off your donations in the temple lobby anytime that week. Click here to download the list of items requested.

Days of Awe

Our Sanctuary is open during the Days of Awe: the time between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. Spend time in thought, meditation or prayer seated in our most sacred space. Familiar High Holy Days music and recorded readings will provide a spiritual atmosphere as you reflect on the past year and work towards making amends at this important season. The Sanctuary is open on:

  • Tuesday, October 8th from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • Thursday, October 10th from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.
