LPGA Veteran Rosie Jones Defends Title of 2nd Annual South Carolina Women's Open and Dedicates Win to the Late Anne Smith of Seabrook Island; Natalie Huff Wins Senior Amateur Division
Two rounds completed and the Senior Division Professional and Amateur Champions established in the 2nd Annual South Carolina Women's Open presented by Seabrook Island Club and Real Estate. Another great day on the links with a slight breeze, sunny skies, damp air. Starting the day with an eleven shot lead over fellow professional Sally Austin from Southern Pines, NC. Jones continued to pull away from the field carding 9 birdies and only 4 bogey's over two days for a 69-70=139. Jones, claiming back-to-back titles, dedicated this win to Seabrook Island Club member Anne Smith who was instrumental in bring the event to Seabrook Island. Anne past suddenly this year and is forever a staple in the South Carolina Women's Open. Making a move to claim 2nd place in the Professional Division was Anne Marie Palli from Arizona posting an 82-75=157 and Sally Austin placing 3rd with a two day total 159.

The Senior Women's Amateur Champion is Elgin's Natalie Huff firing a 81-79= 160 to win by 6 shots over last years champion Lea Anne Brown. Coming in third was Leigh Coulter shooting ad 85-82=167.
Professional Division and Open Amateur Divisions
Last years runner up Sydney Legacy (p) from Anderson, SC shot a 7 under 65 in round two to take a 2 shot lead going into the final round of the 2nd Annual South Carolina Women's Open for the Overall Championship title. Two amateurs sit at two over par 144 going into the final round. Amateur Savannah Hylton, Hilton Head Island, and Angela Aung, Bloomington, IN, fired a 2 under par 70 today. Hylton had a record 5 birdies on the front nine for a 31, finishing with a 39 on the back. Aung had 6 birdies for her round, 3 on the front and 3 on the back.
Just one shot back with a 145 is Jodee Tindal from Rock Hill who also carded a two under 70 in the the second round.

Sunday's final round will start at 8:00am and is free to spectators. The overall winner will earn a sponsor exemption into a 2020 LPGA Symetra Tour event in the Carolina's. Will it be an Amateur? Will it be a Professional? Come out and watch some great golf and cheer on the players while they battle for the Championship.
