PLEASE NOTE: We will now send this newsletter on Thursday afternoons twice a month. If you have a submission, please send it to [email protected] by February 22, 2022 at 4:00 pm. Our next edition will be sent on February 24, 2022. Thank you!
2021 was a year of new challenges and new adaptations. 2022 promises to be similar. Especially under these circumstances, it is important to let those who support our families know what they mean to us. Will you write a letter of support and/or thanks to our teachers and staff for all they do to support our community the entire school year? Our goal is two letters per staff member.
Your PTSA Student Well Being Committee is on a fast dash to get those personal letters written by February 18. We are almost done, just a few spots left!
It's that time of year again when we look for leadership for the 2022-2023 PTSA board! Do you love chatting with people about all the great things RHS PTSA does for our school? If so, please consider serving on our nominating committee! It is a short one month commitment but serves such a vital role in our voting process.
Maybe you have a hidden, or not so hidden, talent you would like to share. We invite you to look at our committee positions for the upcoming year and let us know if you would like to have an active role in activities at RHS. Existing committees are listed on our website, roswellhighschoolptsa.com, under the PTSA About Us tab. Have an area that you think needs to be covered but is not yet addressed? We would love to hear about that as well!
If you are interested in helping out, either on the nominating committee or as an active board member, please email your interests to Elaine Lee and Laura Legg at [email protected]. We will share input with the board to make sure we continue to support our fabulous school!
It's National Counselors Week!
In honor of our amazing school counselors, the PTSA has created a special treat bag thanking them for "keeping futures bright!"
Our counselors do much more than helping us choose the right classes and pathways to conquer at RHS. They advise virtual, online, and dual-enrollment class options. They are a wealth of college and career knowledge. They keep a fresh roster of tutors who can help in all subjects. They manage and administer local scholarships (separate from PTSA scholarships), update an on-going national scholarship list on Naviance. They plan and offer seminars with outside speakers addressing everything from ACT/SAT prep to test stress and anxiety and help with college applications, just to name a few.
They are a small but mighty crew who work hard for every Hornet every day!
We LOVE our Roswell Counselors! Thank your counselor today!
The RHS Chili Cook-Off for Our Teachers is Back!
Please see below for the Signup Genius if you are interested in making a batch of chili or donating toppings and/or desserts for the event:
If you are interested in donating money to the Staff Appreciation fund you can visit https://roswellhsptsa.memberhub.com/store?category=Donations and click on the “Staff Appreciation Donation” button. The funds will be used to sponsor lunches, fun treats, and other surprises for our teachers and staff. We still have several events planned for this year and your donations will help us with the associated costs.
TELL YOUR FRIENDS
If you know of anyone who is not on this email who you think would like to volunteer their time or make a donation, please share this with them. The teachers are always so very grateful for all we do for them and it’s such an easy way to make a difference at RHS. The more people that come along side us the more we can give back to those who do so much for our kids.
Thank you in advance for your support,

This article is a little different from the psychology and mental health articles we usually share, but it's from the Director of Undergraduate Admission at Georgia Tech who has some great insight on the college admissions process.
Note: You must be registered with the Fulton County School District before volunteering at Roswell High School.
If needed, visit https://www.fultonschools.org/volunteer to complete your registration. Scholarship Sponsor Spotlight
Become a Business Partner; It’s a Win-Win! Local Businesses, Families and Alumni Help Dreams Come True for RHS Seniors
Our Scholarship Team will work with you and your company to find the best fit for your partnership: choose to fund the general scholarship pool or we will work with you to custom-create a scholarship that matches your personal and professional interests.
There is a scholarship for everyone:
We have created scholarships to suit the needs of our diversely talented students.
With the help of our Scholarship Business Partners, we can offer more scholarships to reach more students. In May 2021, we awarded scholarships to students for excellence in academics, excellence in technology, performing arts, visual and literary arts, vocation studies, CTAE (Career Tech Education) pathway completion, good character, positive contributions to school and community, work ethic, success despite adversity, service to others and entrepreneurship. The last two: The Entrepreneurial Spirit Scholarship and The Service to Others Scholarship are perfect examples of a custom-created scholarship. The Entrepreneurial Spirit Scholarship includes a monetary award and mentoring sessions with Business Partners Tom (’91) and Joanne Curtin of Curtin Team Cares, Keller Williams Realty. The Service to Others scholarship was created by Ed and Silvina Klaas, owners of Southern Sprinkler System LLC and who are personally and professionally committed to serving others to make the world a better place.
We are looking for a company or individual interested in supporting specific subject areas: such as all literary arts (currently combined with visual arts) or environmental stewardship. There is also an opportunity for several companies to be part of a TOOLS OF THE TRADE sponsorship. This sponsorship would be a collection of items for students to use in their specific vocation: construction and engineering tools for those pursuing that trade, art kits for art students, cosmetology kits for cosmetology students, and graphic design materials for graphic design students, etc.
Do you have an idea for a scholarship? Then, we will make it happen for you!
Are you ready for a Win-Win with RHS Seniors and the RHS PTSA Scholarship Team?
