GET A CLUE! Nancy Drew, The Hardy Boys & the Mysteries That Changed the Media Forever.

Lasha Philabaum from our local library provided a very interesting talk on the beginning of children's literature and its historical impact on Media through the decades. Many of us are familiar with these books and thier authors having grown up reading them; Nancy Drew, The Hardy Boys, The Bobbsey Twins, The Rover Boys, Trixie Belden and others.

Lasha outlined the history and growth from the late 1800's to present day and explained The Stratemeyer Syndicate, the writing formulas and styles, and who these authors were behind the names.

Let's keep the mystery going! To learn more about this intriguing topic, join Lasha Philabaum at the Coshocton County District Library on August 13th at 6:30 pm.

Rotary Program Responsibilities

  • If you have secured an off-site program, please contact Tim Vance and President Jason Given weeks in advance and let us know if we can have a hot meal or if box lunches are necessary. Not all spaces can accommodate a hot meal option. And, if we will be having box lunches, we will need a head count for program attendance.
  • How many guests will be coming? Just the speaker? Or additional individuals? We need to be sure we have enough food.
  • Please check the link near the end of the newsletter for your program date.
  • Even if you cannot attend the meeting, you should still secure your program.
  • Any questions regarding your program? Please contact Tim Vance.
