A graduate of Hunter College where she majored in Psychology and Education, Jennie held a variety of teaching assignments in New York City and Fort Lee. After spending 10 years in the classroom, Jennie decided to be a stay at home mom for her young sons. At this time, she began volunteering at both the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Cloisters acting as Chair of Programs for school children, as a liaison between staff and volunteers, and as a docent.
After volunteering for a number of years, Jennie entered the world of publishing. She began in 1993 as an Assistant Editor with Prentice Hall and moved to McGraw-Hill in 1997 where she worked as a Development Editor on college textbooks. She created content and features for a number of different disciplines ranging from Public Speaking, Art, Psychology, and Political Science.
Over the years, her volunteer work included teaching ballroom dancing to inmates at Bellevue Hospital, teaching ESL at the Englewood Library, and working on the Habitat for Humanity and Flat Rock Brook boards. Jennie has been a member of the Englewood Rotary Club for nine years and served as President 2017-2018. She represented our club at the International Rotary Conventions in Seoul and Hamburg.
Jennie plays piano with a chamber group, The Starling Ensemble, which was formed by members of the Englewood Rotary Club.
