Upcoming Volunteer Opportunity: Mock Interviews

Virtual Mock Interviews are taking place over Zoom on Tuesday, June 3rd from 8:15-11:15am with our Clinical Medical Assistant Program.

Contact Krista Langford at klangford@tsjhopebuilders.org to learn more or sign up.

Monthly we conduct Virtual Mock Interviews where volunteers help young adults practice their interviewing skills and build confidence in their job search. Mock interviews allow volunteers to help trainees prepare for their future careers. By participating, volunteers provide invaluable feedback and support that can significantly enhance their interview skills and career readiness. On average we need approximately 25 volunteers per session. We are currently recruiting for the following dates for Virtual Mock Interviews:

Virtual mock interviews are conducted over Zoom. We begin with Hope Builders staff conducting a brief orientation with volunteers. Volunteers are then assigned to individual breakout rooms with trainees for mock interviews. Each interview lasts 20 minutes and volunteers will interview 3 trainees. (Sample questions are provided) We kindly ask that we receive RSVP's 1 week prior to each session.

NEW INTERACT CLUBS!

The Rotary Club of Santa Ana has sponsored two new Interact Clubs in the last month. Thanks to the efforts of Rotarian Marta Rodriguez, and Santa Ana Club President Selica Diaz, Century High School and Legacy College Prep - Ednovate will be home to new clubs working to make their communities and our world a better place! Thank you, Marta, and Selica!

We would like to acknowledge MAYRA CERVANTES-MARTINEZ for the enormous efforts in launching the Interact Club at Legacy College Prep Ednovate. Mayra secured a school staff member to serve as Advisor to the new Interact club. We appreciate her time and heart she put into making this happen!

We also appreciate Club Board Members Selica, Mary Lou and Nancy for their work and dedication on the Century High School Scholarship program and helping to secure a solid partnership for next school years scholarships.

Our club has been invited to participate in future fundraising efforts in the 2025-2026 school year, in collaboration with the Century High School Interact Club.

The Rotary Interact program is a service club for young people aged 12 to 18. Sponsored by local Rotary clubs, Interact clubs are self-governing and self-supporting, encouraging youth to develop leadership skills and personal integrity while emphasizing the value of hard work and individual responsibility.

Each Interact club undertakes at least two community service projects annually, one benefiting their local community and another promoting international understanding. These projects cover diverse issues such as environmental concerns, hunger, health, and literacy. Through these activities, Interactors expand their global awareness and build a network of friendships with other clubs worldwide, embodying Rotary's motto of "Service Above Self."

If you're interested in learning about Interact clubs or how students are chosen for RYLA camp next spring, please ask during a club meeting.

Our youth program is dedicated to cultivating the next generation of leaders.

You can play a vital role by volunteering as an Interact Advisor, leading as a Club Youth Chair, or providing crucial financial support. Learn how your contribution directly impacts the lives and development of these young individuals. Our program provides mentorship, skill-building workshops, and opportunities for community involvement. Help us raise $5,000 to fund scholarships and RYLA summer leadership camp.
