3x's the supplies to send
The Bahamas has experienced devastating damage after Hurricane Dorian.
Getting Pallets ready

Disaster Aid Canada is working with our partners, Disaster Aid USA & Disaster Aid UK & I, to quickly deploy supplies to the Bahamas. Luckily, some tents were pre-positioned and have already been set up. DARTS are already on the ground setting up Water Filtration Systems and handing out tarps.

This week we have been putting tents, bed packs and hygiene items on pallets. Last night we were contacted by Rotary International to triple the number of items were were sending. WOW! This is a tall order but we know we can do it!  Together, with your support, and amazing partners we can make an event bigger impact in helping those that have lost everything in the Bahamas.

One of my favorite moments when we have the opportunity to help others, is how many people show up to contribute. For some, it is volunteering their time...and believe me, we could NEVER do this without our volunteers.
We would like to thank everyone that gave us your time today. We were only asked last night to triple the number of items we were sending. Our volunteers jumped into gear and packed boxes all day.

Disaster Aid Canada was asked to supply 150 Disaster Relief Tents. WE had these stacked in our racks so, our amazing "fork-lifter" Richard, quickly came to the warehouse and brought them all down for us.
In all disaster situations, time is of the essence...
we needed these supplies ready
to be shipped out.

Thank you to UPS for flying all of our Disaster Relief supplies to the Bahamas

When UPS offers to fly our disaster relief supplies (as a corporate donation), it means that the donations that YOU make all go towards the supplies not shipping. Working together, with everyone doing what they are good at, also means more people are helped! Thank you UPS for the wonderful gift of transportation! You are fantastic to work with; fast, efficient and thorough. We appreciate it!

Where will our tents be set up?

The Disaster Relief tents, bed packs and hygiene items are being flown to Nassau. They will be set up at the Scout Camp by local volunteers and DARTS. Already on this site, we have set up the pre-positioned tents, Water Filtration systems, cooking facilities and sanitation areas. Thousands of evacuees have already arrived so all these supplies are very much needed.

For a donation of $500, you can provide a place of refuge for a family; somewhere to be dry, safe and have comfort.  In their time of need, please do what you can to help. Thousands are in need now!

An important aspect of our international work is Hygiene

Soap saves lives. The lack of sani tation can make disease spread quickly.  Providing soap will help these people stay clean and healthy in the basic livin g conditions where they will live until homes can be built. We are sending over 10,000 bars of soap and 6,000 hygiene amenities.

Along with Hygiene products (soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and body lotion) our volunteer Irene has been busy making Bed Packs. Each Bed Pack consists of a set of sheets, 2 pillowcases, a blanket, a towel, and 2 sets of slippers. All these linens have been redirected from our Caring Community Partner program with hotels.
Thank you for helping us reach
