Paula Knight, VP, People, Strategy & Communications, Cancer Care Ontario (CCO)

For the inaugural Rotman Initiative Member Spotlight, we are delighted to feature Paula Knight. Paula is both an Emerging Leaders and Judy Project alumna, and, more importantly, a champion for women's leadership.

Professional accolades:
  • Recipient of Microsoft's highest honour - the Chairman's Award presented by Bill Gates
  • Recognized as one of Canada's Top 100 Most Powerful Women by the Women's Executive Network in 2009
  • Recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Medal for outstanding contribution to the community
We asked Paula a list of questions to better understand how she manages her personal and professional commitments, to find out what inspires her, and to gain insights into what makes her tick. Paula's words of wisdom include:
  • setting your own terms;
  • being kinder to oneself;
  • finding purpose in what you do and seeking opportunities to do work that fulfills you; and,
  • taking risks by stepping in to lead areas of the business outside of your core skill set.
We were captivated by the advice and insights Paula shared through the Q&A. To view the interview,
