A van carrying six players for the Tulsa Roughnecks was involved in an accident Wednesday morning when travelling from Fort Lauderdale, Florida to Jacksonville.
Four of the six players required medical treatment and were transported to local hospitals. Three of the four have received treatment for minor injuries and have been released.
Midfielder Henri Manhebo has required the most care. He is still receiving treatment for his injuries and is resting comfortably, in stable condition.
The Roughnecks released the following statement:
"It is has been a trying day for everyone involved in our organization. We are very fortunate and grateful that the accident was not worse than it was. We appreciate everyone's concerns about the well being of our players and ask that you keep Henri in your prayers. We hope to see him back on the field shortly."
Athletic trainer Koby Smith is remaining with Henri at the tending hospital while the rest of the squad is scheduled to resume their trip to Jacksonville.
The Roughnecks have been in Florida since last Friday for preseason training.
