Winter Weather Round 2 Tonight

Another day, another round of "Winter Weather Advisories" across the area. Current radar at 5 PM EST has a wintry mix of precipitation starting to edge into Western KY. This activity will slowly push east overnight, mainly impacting the southern half of Kentucky. Below is a look at the current Winter Weather Advisories across the state and the associated timing. This will likely be another round of mixed wintry weather as snow, sleet, and freezing rain will all be on the table. Up to another inch of snow/sleet will be possible, along with some minor ice accumulations. Remember....it doesn't take much to cause travel issues!

Look for this activity to exit Western KY during the early overnight hours and Eastern KY tomorrow morning. Just like yesterday, I included a link below to each NWS office's briefing slides on the event. Take it slow in the morning!

Central KY - NWS Louisville

Western KY - NWS Paducah

Eastern KY - NWS Jackson

As a side note, the National Weather Service in Paducah provided a list of winter travel resources across the region below. Good information to have as we push through the remainder of winter.

Taking a quick look at the rest of the week, a third round of mixed precipitation will be possible Wednesday night and into Thursday morning. Just like tonight, not expecting any major impacts. Just some travel issues here and there.

Looking into the end of the workweek and over the weekend, we'll finally see a dry window and warming temperatures. In fact, highs by Monday will be back in the 50s! Outlooks then point toward higher confidence in above normal temperatures and precipitation as we head through next workweek. Let's keep the warm air coming! It's almost hard to believe, but meteorological spring is officially less than a month away!
